Lunarians came close to defeating Tiamat tonight. We lost due to some claim bug when someone left PT and had hate. We got it to around 5% and only had 25 people not including our ranger. Alot of people from this forum saw how close we had it.

One of the images that we made a bit before we lost control.

That's a job well done. I've seen JP HNMLS take him on with 40 and die horribly.

Then again, I think they might have taken on Vrtra.

So maybe I'm just talking out of my ***. >.>

I dont understand in the pic no one is dead and Tiamat has a sliver of health? Hes strong enough to kill all you with that small health left?

I believe someone kept hate while cycling out of the active alliance which screwed something up (Ayril would know for sure ^^).

They also have to deal with air elementals and other nasty spawns around him which I have a feeling didn't help matters ^^

I took a filter off for a moment to see what people were getting hit for and I saw Hammy get hit twice for 304 dmg a pop, so yeah, he's a bad mo-fo ^^

I believe this would be from a move dragons seem to get called Spike Flail. If anyone ends up close to the dragon's tail (such as in a situation in which hate is lost) he smashes his tail into the ground, and an AoE with very large damage will probably kill just about everyone, except for PLD at full health possibly.

Very impressive!

I know you guys can do it. Don't give up!

I wish SE could fix these things when claim sticks to people. I've seen it too and it's annoying at best. With something like Tiamat I can imagine it's fatal. :(

If someone else has claim, the alliance can't stun, can't sleep, can't flash, can't bind, etc. Pretty much can't do anything. The mob however still has hate, and can do whatever it wants to you. Thus it's pretty easy for it to kill a lot of people fast.

He has massive health regen and ALOT of health. We're working on getting everyone in our LS to actually come instead of 25. We can kill it for sure next time if everyone comes. The dangerous part about the things that we kill outside the party are the corses ( grim reaper/lich type mobs). They silence everyone and also can charm someone in your party. Kind of sucks if you have to kill all 3 at once.

Wasn't a flail, was claim bug.

That was my pic. ;p I died shortly after taking it from a 660 damage AE and 500+ damage Taebed Wing.

As for how we died, while on the ground Tiamat uses Mighty Strikes and was crit'ing our PLD's for 450~550 damage. Since he also triple attacks thats enough to rip up a pld in 1 round. Since we had no control over tiamat we couldn't stop him from killing our PLD's. By the time we regained claim of Tiamat it was all but to late. All tanks dead and anyone who had the ability to sleep him dead.

We will win next time. We had only 25 people with us then and took him to 3% hp with no MNK's or RNG's damaging him. Next time we will have allmost all of our members there and we will win.

You also have to understand that this is the result of quite a bit of time of pounding away at him, so that sliver is likely thousands of HP.

And for having no RNG and no MNKs, that's a fantastic job. You guys will own him for sure once you get some MNK and RNG power in there.

Edited because I can't spell correctly late at night. ><
