A Depressing EveningFollow

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share a story of the very dissapointing evening tonight, and it's quite a rant, so if your not interested, please don't read.

Moving on, so, I was with some friends skilling up this evening in Kuftal Tunnel off of Robber Crabs. It consisted of me (61 NIN) a 61 RNG, 62 THF, 60 WHM and 61 WHM. We are doing very well on skillups, when all of a sudden we notice a certain lizard, Amemit, standing right in front of our camp unclaimed. So, feeling crazy, I decide to Provoke the thing, and everyone seems interested. So, the fight is going ok, he's hitting me pretty hard, but Utsusemi is amazing as usual. We even get one link, but its taken care of smoothly.

All of a sudden in the background, I notice a name, Fihkenyaa, with several lizards trailing her, I see her use Flee, and she runs around and picks up me several more. At this point, she probably had 8-12 lizards more on her. All of a sudden, I notice her heading towards me with all her lizards in tow. I start moving back a bit, and she continues to move towards me. I move again, and she moves towards me. At this point, I'm trying to move, but I dont want to link any more lizards, so I get kind of trapped. I notice this character Fihkenyaa, activates Perfect Dodge, and begins using a Warp scroll. I'm not sure what happened, but I believe the lizard Fireball attack goes through Perfect Dodge, and she ends up toasted. Needless to say, all these lizards link onto me, and I go down quite quickly. Everyone two hours, and Amemit is down to a sliver of health, but we all die. Another party of three finishes him off in approximately 3-5 hits.

For the record, this person, Fihkenyaa, was running around previous to Amemit popping, and has two sales of its skins in the current AH history. I challenge this person to reply if I am somehow blotching your name, but quite frankly, based on your actions, it seems quite obvious what your intentions were.

So, after, I had a friend there to Raise my party, and I get a tell from Fihkenyaa saying "[Raise] II OK". I found it quite humorous, and as you can imagine, asked this WHM not to raise this person.

I called a GM after the event, and got a very "typical" response.

"We are sorry about this players' behavior"

"We are investigating the occurence now"

"Please take care to avoid this player in the future"

So, my question to Allakhazam, am I right to be angry over this? It's really very dissapointing, I can't quite put my finger on it, but it left me with a very bad feeling about the game in general. Anyways, for anyone who took the time, thanks for listening to my rant.

I was the 61 rng fighting this lizard alongside Germonick. The only thing that I would like to add is that the "other" party of three was most likely working alongside our friend Fihkenyaa as the entire event was pretty well scripted. They stood right on top of us as we fought the lizard (took quite a while). When its health was down below 1/4, the train pulls into the station. As soon as we hit the ground, they are all over Mr. Lizard. There was a nice Beastmaster there that seemed to be tryting to help with the lizards, but it was too much for him to clear them all off of us. :-(

I reported the event also, just because I feel like it is a duty to report these things. I don't really expect any action to be taken, but if you don't file a report then you can't really complain.

I won't attempt to give the names of the three in the other party since there is no proof that they were involved, nor do I have their names spelled correctly. However, the the thf mentioned above is, at the very least, a confirmed ******* and goat molester.

The very small comfort comes in the fact that as soon as we were raised and back to killing crabs, Guivre comes rolling through and turns them to mush. I'm sorry for any of you others that were down there and got beat on by that baddie. We teleported out when we saw him.

If, in fact, these guys are gil sellers (and i'm not saying they are), then we have to figure that it is only a matter of time until they are up in Sky MPKing people there too -_-

Fihkenyaa, Iville, Evele, Beyond (or something similar) and the other two in that party are gil sellers. My former set party had several run-ins with them and they like training and MPKing people. This story is entirely typical of their behavior. Keep making GM reports about them, maybe someday they'll get banned.

It's quite sad they resort to that kind of behaviour. You'd think the monopoly they somewhat have over a lot of the items is enough... but no, they stoop to this petty *cough* crap.

You've got every right to be extremely peeved. I only hope Squ-Enix opens their eyes. As much as it's a virtual world, the annoyance is quite real and undesired to have, and what should be a fun game, become exasperating.

I was also there skilling up off crabs last night, although I think I was there earlier than you were. The same THF was there and would run up to the three of us, examine us, stand there for 5 minutes, and then run away. I didn't think anything of it, but it made me wary of her.

Then, I found a coffer, but there was a spider near it that I didn't want to agg, so I was just waiting till I had an opportunity to get the coffer agg-free. Well here comes this THF running straight for the coffer, runs right through the spider, gets agg, and runs away... *shrugs* So I pop the coffer now that the threat is removed. Not a very smart THF I can tell you that.

Later on, we decided to try our hand at Yowie. Our BST is downstairs pulling Yowie up to us near the spiders, and zooooom there goes the THF past us and down to where our BST is. If the previous encounter with the spiders is any indication of how this THF deals with agg, I can only assume she ran through the 12 spiders on the way down to Yowie and ate dirt, since I didn't see her come back up again. Our BST didn't get MPKd or anything, but I can only assume that she was up to no good.

Moral of the story is, just be wary when you're in Kuftal. I've been down there a few times in the last few weeks and these players are always there. Just try to avoid them, and report them as necessary if it makes you feel better. Or you could go stand by a coffer looking like you're going to pop it until they run at you in a blaze of glory and die trying to beat you to it :D Brain power is lacking in these characters >.>

Man that's screwed up. And there's nothing you could do to prevent the training.

Too bad you dont have RDM or BLM or BRD. Have Sleepga and Escape ready is the best defense vs trainers. Sleep the trains to buy some time until Amemit is dead. Lot drops and warp out.

That is a terrible story. I cant belive people would do that in game. Has the greed from some players gotten that bad that they would slaughter others for a mob?

-shakes head- So sad.

Do keep in mind that the gil sellers are here to make real money, not here to play the game. They could careless about what kind of reputation they have and what people thinks of them.

They are here to take sellable items from regular players so normal players will pay them real money to get the items. They would any means to get the item. Even if it happens to get some normal players killed. Why would they care about any normal players? They just want the item to sell.

Ya your right. What gets me about gilsellers is that majority of them run arround with bazaar comments with every word miss spelled saying How they need gil.

At this point I'd be screaming. Exactly how does one avoid MPKers? Should we frantically start running searches every 30 seconds when we enter a dangerous zone? Should we just stop leveling and stop entering dangerous zones? And what do we do if we find one? Run to a different zone?

Every zone has mobs that aggro. Given a sufficiently large train, you run the risk of death anywhere you go (aside from possibly the home turf areas and one outlying region). So, is it now Square Enix's policy that we can't be safe anymore?

In terms of MPK-ing, I think Square-Enix is trying to investigate and deal with people who do that. I heard that a few of the Jerrys were found guilty when they had their fit the other day...
