First off thanks to Lauryla, Drudge and Dirks...that was fun!

Second, under no cicumstances do what I did.
We get the first ruby, Dirks didn't need one and I passed, because Lauryla and Drudge were there first. Drudge lots. One down and the general concensus was "Two to go."
Half hour later second drop, Drudge and Dirk say "passed". Without asking I said passing and did so as Drudge says "no" and Lauryla says lot.

CRAP! One lost ruby. After calling myself a tool and taking some much deserved and good natured ribbing, we continue. 45 min later third drop. I lot for it. 997!!!!! what a roll. :)

Thanks to Drudge and Lauryla stickin with me until the drop.
And for saving my can after the bogy jumped me. (I was soloing a leech without healing first... fight ends with me at 14HP and 0MP.)

So remember ask everyone in the pt before you pass on rare drops. I learned my lesson and at least I was with quality people who understood that people do dumb things. :)

Ahh the joys of Ruby hunting! It took me three days to get my ruby! And that was just for one single drop! It was horrible! But summoner was fun of course. Collecting the weather patterns took a while but the weather NPCs are your best friends :) Enjoy Summoner!

Took me about 15 hrs play time over 4 days to get two. Got one to drop in 20 minutes, which I insisted my friend Molie take despite her vehement protests that I was doing most of the work. Smiley: tongue She was Whm, I was Mnk at the time.

Took me the remaining 14.5-ish hours to get the second one to drop...I think I alone put leeches on the endangered species list by the time that stupid ruby dropped!

heh, i remember my ruby hunt. I had asked this random PLD to help me out way back when...she was reluctant because she had been trying to get it for 10 hours already (she was lvl 60). I told her if she could help me for like 1/2 hour, I would be really happy, at least just for trying. Got the ruby on the FIRST kill...haha..I would love to have seen her face on the other side of her screen. Anyway, both lotted, I won, ruby was mine in less than 10 mins ^^.

..funny thing Audion and I were goofing around in Qufim one day while waiting for other people and he said he needed the ruby..and low and behold..SECOND kill we get the ruby. I must have the luck of the Irish...

BTW grats on the ruby. Enjoy

That is crazy. I hear all these horror stories about getting the ruby. I was running to catch the boat and figured I would kill a leech just for fun in Burubimu. POW! One leech dead, one ruby dropped! Total time, 5 mins.

{Good Job!} on getting rubys for everyone in such a short time.

You guys are lucky
It took me a couple hours and that was with a lvl 55 PLD and a ll 65 BLM who killed 50 leeches every couple of minutes. I think we killed atleast 800 leeches easy, my thanks goes out to them.

Getting the ruby can be a horror and or just a quick breeze :D

First time I leveled war from 30 to 31 by just killing leeches for a small 15-25 exp at bubu beach. Have had multiple times that I went hunting here and probably spend too many hours without a ruby ><

Leeches in pashhow wasn't any better either. Hunted those for a few hours as well ^^;; In total would have had about 900 leeches killed without a drop.

Then there comes a party into korroloka tunnel. Actually, it was an alliance who went to do the nin quest and a friend and me decided to help out. While waiting we had a leech spawn sometimes near the spawn spot and we would kill it. The second spawn was holding a ruby. Lotting occurrred and I somehow magically won. 3 more people needed it though. So we waited because somehow the korroloka leeches weren't spawning for an other guy and out of boredom we kill a few more leeches. Pop...another ruby o_O;; Lotting occurs and we start to wonder if it is just pure luck or something ^^; Kill a few more leeches (less than 7 :x) and another ruby. From here on only 1 more was needed and well not too long with a few more dead leeches we managed to get another ruby and so everyone had one ^^;

I don't know wether it is because of korroloka tunnel or that it was just a sheer moment of luck, but i'm glad that it was finally finished ^^

As for the nin quest...apparantly the one guy did finish it by killing the leeches, but it somehow didn't show up for him and he scrolled over the key item ^^;;

Thanks all for the congratulatory words...

Now if I can just get that stupid Indigo without dyin on a glacier somewhere. Cuz then i'll just get found by hikers 2000 years from now and get kept in a meat locker while scientists (hacks) poke me with shiny intruments to find out that my last meal was orange juice and a faerie apple......

OH i ticked off the entire set of people in my L.S. when we went ruby hunting for me. TWO leeches..that was it..i got stares..slaps..pokes..angry

Getting ice is easy..but dangerous at the same time. I did it myself i printed out a map of the pass around here, took a scroll of instant warp. took my RDMN/SMN in there blink, , sneak, invis..took the path...made it there through and sat there for an hour wiating for that fricken weather to pop up..got it went back that same day and leveled smn like no other...until i fell asleep and my face had keyboard marks all over it.

Braewyn,

Everytime I am in Buburimu Peninsula, I /sea all Brae to find you,
but you are always away, or temporarily logged to PlayOnline. ;_;

I sent knock messages and all that jazz.

I hope you still want your Ruby, or if you got it, let me know so I
can stop randomly bugging you, hehe. ^^;

feel free to randomly bug! everytime i come back to my computer, i see that you knocked! ok, not every single time, but i think twice now. i just always miss you somehow.

what i always do is just log out into POL when i'm away doing RL stuff. sometimes i just leave it logged out into POL overnight. so the majority of the time you see me, i'm away. i won't be on tonight, and tomorrow i may be on a limited amount of time... thursday limited, but this weekend i'll be around. i totally still want the ruby. thanks for bugging me! it really is appreciated, i swear!
