I believe you go to your mog house cause I didn't know how to set a HP and that is where I always ended up. lol

Yes by default your HP is in front of what ever area's mog house you start in I belive. I found this out the hard way when I first started playing before learning about Home Points ^^

They changed it, if you have CoP it's a secret warp to Lufaise Meadows, but they leave you there buck nekkid and shivering with no weapon.
