Next election I'd like to see Oprah run for president.

Quit laughing. I'm quite serious.

And incidentally, the attitude of most GOP supporters today is juvenile and disgusting.

Bush essentially won this election by roughly 140,000 votes. Had those votes gone to Kerry, he would have won Ohio, and the presidency.

Hardly a reason to gloat.

Bush is president. For four more years.

I just hope we won't look back and rue it.

I really hate being political, but it's typical of a democrat to skew the facts to benefit their opinion and not analyze the whole situation. At least that's what I've experienced this election.

Bush won Ohio by 140,000 votes. He won the popular vote by a lot more then that, and is the first president in a long while to win the election with over 50% of the popular vote. You can't win the electoral college with just Ohio.

Of course, I could say the same, saying Kerry won Pennsylvania because of Philadelphia, Illinois because of Chicago, California because of Los Angeles, New York because of NYC.... but hey, I'm not saying that.

And by the way, I'm independent, with strong libertarian views. Go Neal Boortz!

Aww c'mon, that's typical of any person who is disappointed with the outcome of anything, no matter what side of the political spectrum they're on. It's not a democrat thing. It's a human thing.

People of all shapes, sizes, colors, religions, and political leanings *love* to skew facts and exaggerate. TV does it all the time. Please don't try and place that behavior solely on one party because it just isn't true :P

And like it or not, it *is* true that had Kerry won Ohio he would be our next president. The popluar vote is a meaningless number as we all witnessed in 2000 :P

Whether or not it's a good thing that a candidate can win the popular vote and still lose the presidency is another debate.

Very true, but Ohio was nevertheless key in this election. It was the closest call among states with heavy electoral weight.

140k difference in popular vote.

Without our 20 electoral votes in Bushs favor, the election would have gone to Kerry.

No kidding you can't win with just Ohio. But the only other close call in the battleground states was Michigan, and with 17 electoral votes it still would have come down to Ohio.

Although this does send one very clear message.

Your. Vote. Does. Count.

Never think it doesn't.

You guys do know what when Bush took office we had a surpluss of $247 billion and now our debt is at $5.5 trillion ( around that area) and our economy sucks. I as well as my familiy and friends were devastaded when he won. I honestly cant see anything good that he done besides homeland security and kind of no child left behind, thats just me I guess, im not a huge kerry fan either. :/
Oh well, as long as there is no draft ill be happy

Taken from NationalReview.com's "The Corner"

BWAA HA HA HA HA HA HA! [Jonah Goldberg]

Look I don't know what the final tally will be. But it's now clear that the youth vote just didn't show. The liberal blogosphere is grumpy and introspective about it. I love it for reasons I will be writing about for months to come.

The cult of the youth voter remains, once again, the most absurd, bogus, childish, romantic and misguided joke of liberal American politics. Period.

Congratulations, somehow stopping gay marriage and legal abortion is more important to this country than the largest deficit in history, over 1 million lost jobs, an unnecessary war, the probability of a draft, or any semblance of a real issue. The Jerry Falwells and Pat Robertsons managed to elect a man who shouldn't be in the White House in the first place.

Oh, and I know this will be massive rate down city, I just don't care

The Jerry's.... I knew it.

Yes, your vote is counted, but voting still doesn't change anything. Please pardon my cynicism here: Pick the remote back up America, don't bother with thinking. Just leave all that to us, the ones with the wallets. Go back to watching Amercian Idol and other dumbing reality tv shows.

There goes my karma rating. Yes, I know what I am doing before I hit the post button.

Look, I don't like Bush, but I hate the Kennedys (oops, I mean Kerry). If any one of you every had a decent political science course and actually was awake during it, you'd actually know how little a President can do without consent of Senate and House, therefore Jesse Jackson could be President for all I give a shit. Especially in only 4 yrs.

At least Bush is decent content for Saturday Night Live. Hell, I wouldn't mind letting ol' Bubba go for another 4 yr. term if he was allowed. He was pretty amusing. But for Democratic supporters to call Republican supporters "fanatical" is definately the pot calling the kettle black. This election was summed up perfectly in South Park when they were given the choice to pick between voting for a douche or a turdsandwich. I just find it appauling that amongst the thousands of political "geniuses" in this country these are the best two candidates they could come up with. And if you think Bush is sh
it (which I would tend to agree) then Kerry must be whale shit on the bottom of the ocean because he lost.
