Silly voters! Don't you know that voter fraud is going to cancel your votes anyway?! Jon Stewert is God.

But yeah, get out there and vote! Doesn't matter if it's Bush, Kerry, Nader or even a write-in for Ronald McDonald. We gotta get our voices heard.

Those of you who have an informed opinion, who've weighed the facts, sifted through the propoganda, the lies, the media coverage, to those of you who at least know that you want, however vaguely, for your ideals to be represented and know exactly the possible ramifications of your choice, go vote.

Those of you who've spent the last 3 weeks flipping past the debates and recieve all your political, social, economic, and historical information through the carefully sieved opinions of others and are completely flippant about democracy and the real potency of some issues, stay home and hunt Oz keys.

But then again, it's all the electoral college, so f--k that. At least show them who you would've wanted to win. Just don't vote because a million stupid TV ads and t-shirt wearing celebrities told you to, or because a bunch of self-righteous people who probably didn't vote in the last 3 elections yelled at you to do so, go vote because you have an opinion and you want it heard and it takes all of 10 minutes to be part of the process.

Now let's spam our 'Vote or Die' message in a million other public forums completely irrelevant to their intended topics or audience, cause shucks, we haven't really had /enough/ people screaming at the common man to go vote or be castrated and hung as a communist. >.> (joke, joke)

I voted for the Archduke and Kerry.

Sorry Nader, the 2 party system blows!

Ahhh Ohio, where I live. I am told we are the deciding ground for this race.

Looking at the news tonight, they were right.

Fox news called Ohio for Bush about an hour ago, and MSNBC was quick to follow suit.

At the time I said it was too early to tell. 88% of precincts reporting Bush 52% Kerry 48%. The remaining precincts are mostly not swing precincts, but there are monkey wrenches in the works, as Ohio had an even bigger voter turn out than any other state this year. Many of which, exit polls show, tended toward Kerry.

An hour later it's still too close to call, and it wouldn't surprise me if Fox and NBC redact their projections. It's now Bush 51% Kerry 49% with 92% of precincts reported. They are almost exactly 100,000 popular votes apart.

I am chewing my nails so hard tonight I might be missing a few fingers by the morning.

But regardless, whoever wins, I say congratulations to those who supported them.

Yeah, looking like he'll take the win. However, remember these results do not take the provisional votes into consideration. And we won't know those results for quite some time. It's the hanging chad problem of 2004. Makes you wonder if they'll ever get the hang of this voting thing. HOwever did we do it before? -_-

According to USAToday:

Ohio
100% Precincts reporting (not counting Provisonal and Absentee)
Bush: 51% 2794346 votes
Kerry: 49% 2658125 votes

It's amazing how close this race is, even though I'm rooting for Bush, Kerry has nothing to frown about, incredbly close election.

Well actually not quite yet Win but it appears as though that will be in fact the outcome. Kerry has stated he will concede at 1pm.
#40 Nov 03 2004 at 11:24 AM Rating: Decent
Ah I see. She's home today and said that the news cut in and said that Kerry had already conceded, and to expect an announcment in a couple of hours.

What an exciting race this was:)

Exciting? I suppose.

Elections always feel like something between a sports game and a wake.

But here in Ohio, last night the center of the world, some of us feel a bit different. We're waiting to see whether Bush snuggles up with us, or just wipes his **** on our leg, tosses a $5 bill on the nightstand, suits up, and leaves.

Sorry for the graphic image. Just really disappointed in my home state right now.
