Hello all. I have been preaching on here to not buy your sniper ring.. but to camp stroper instead.. have the monopoly broken and their price fixing come back and bite em in the ***.. SO.. last night I decided to practice what I preach and go camp stroper. Me and a buddy got him about three times.. they got him bout 5.. then my friend left and it was just me and the gil sellers. Needless to say.. 4 against one is hardly an even playing field.. ANd I think I only got him one more time after that.

On a side note.. the gil sellers, while didnt break any rules, did mess with me. By constantly checking me, and checking my bazzar.. I mean constantly. Standing right infront of where I camp..even standing in the exact same space as I was standing.

These guys have stroper to them selves, it seems almost 24/7.. which is utterly ridiculous. Which brings me to why I am posting.

I would like to get a group of people together to camp Stroper with. Alone, it is next to impossible to get, as each gil seller has a portion of the room they camp. We can do the same. If it is a set pt.... we can continue till each has a ring or two.. or just keep at it.. I dont care.. either way.. I refuse to support gil sellers by buying a sniper ring, and I would love to lower their stropers.

If interested either send me a PM on here, email ..trentinla@aol.com .. or send me a tell.. Francisbean.

ON a good note.. today was my second attempt.. for only like 15 mins.. and I got the NM next door for the brown belt quest while the gil sellers were banging on stroper.

Anyway, hope to hear from some of you.

This is actually a bot program. Walk past Oneman in Gusgen for all the proof you need. The Redapples do it too. It's similar to a turbo controller, and everything is lined up so that it instantly checks and examines your bazaar, then a few seconds later, cancels everything and repeats.

The purpose? For NM camping, I don't understand, but in mining, it's a little known fact that if you examine the Mining Point before you mine it, you decrease the amount of pickaxes you break (SE's "anti-bot" method). Not a substantial amount, mind you, but it adds up.

A LOT of the gilselling groups do this, so that's what leads me to believe it's a bot doing it, or a turbo feature of some sort. Perhaps they've rearranged abilities to allow for a near instant claiming, but when a PC is targetted, they Check instead.

Couldn't say for certain, seeing as how I don't bot. But that's my theory. Perhaps I am a little paranoid, but I don't see how it would be impossible.

I am interested and possibly have a few more that would camp with me as well. I have Chi Blast for the claim as well. PM me or respond to this post.

Thanks!

I know this group very well. :( While going to turn in some cores to the strange apparatus, I decided to see what the stroper chyme competition was like.

These guys are awful. I realize this may be part of some botting software, but these guys are downright rude. I've run into similar groups in Terrigan, where a group came where two friends and I skilling on robber crabs. They proceeded to check multiple times, sent numerous annoying tells, and camped right on top of us. The ones in Ordelles don't send tells, but they follow you around, stand in front of you, etc. They do this not only to win claim, but annoy the **** out of you to make you leave.

They have modified their claiming techniques so it is very difficult to beat them solo, but sometimes I'll go and try my luck, and cheer on every jp monk that comes to camp. Turbo controller or not, and whether you believe in the infamous jp ping hax, I have yet to see them win against that chi. Go go little taru monk. :D

Me and Iggystar tried our luck against the stroper competition, and we got it 3 times, but no drop. The most annoying thing these people do is train a monster they've claimed near you, just to mess up your select. Sometimes they even call for help so you end up provoking it if you're not paying attention.

Ive done it before.
I think you use the coman /target npc next line /ja "Provoke" <t> or /ma "Dia" <t> I got him about 3 times with a friend, it is also fun to train mobs in front of the gil sellers since they use the same and constantaly spamm this they will attack all the other mobs that you bring.

I'm not sure how true this is but my friend thinks Stromper is on a in game 6 hour spawm rate. If he doesnt spawn at once spot in the six hours he is at the other.

I'll help camp though if I'm on and not busy just let me know :)

Try put filters on emotes. That should stop the checking spam. Man that's so messed up.

Do keep in mind gil sellers have some hardware advantage with turbo spam pads. A rl friend of mine have been shopping around and tried out quiet a few game pads with turbo options. And he still gets beaten by the gil farmers. Those gil farmers must got their hands on some specific turbo game pad which only they have knowledge of.

My friend Charisma (51THF/WAR) and I have successfully pulled chymes against the gil sellers in the past. We haven't been there for a little while, but we've had good luck on the stairs (not so much in the room). I'd be interested (and I believe I can speak for Charisma too) in giving this a shot, send me a /tell or a PM if you'd like to have us come along!

Imhotep and I tried to compete with the gil sellers a few days ago(Team Jerry) and they were actually nice to us. We didn't get the check-game that most of you wrote about. Actually come to think of it they were extra nice. Assuming these are real people it was probably due to saving their asses on more than one occasion way back when before I knew they were gil sellers. JerryT, or maybe M, if I'm not mistaken actually /cheer me when I Sneak Attacked Stroper. I guess it all depends on wether or not you have played with them. I used to party with the Jerry's months back when they had just started out and other than the broken english they really are nice people to play with.

My whole theory on the Gil-Selling thing is no I don't condone it but they (Gil-Farmers) just like us are players in this game.
Just like I wouldn't MPK any of you and I hope you wouldn't MPK me I wouldn't do it to them (Gil-Farmers) either.

What I do condone is Competition between the two parties involved. (Us vs Them) While we all know what they are doing who says we can't have a little fun and beat them at their own game.
I'm definitly up to help out and I don't even need a cut of
whatever drops. I'd do it just for the competition.

PM me or if you have AIM/AOL messenger my name is JXH82 I'll be more than happy to join in.

p.s. Karma Trolls do your worst I fear you no more. Besides I already lost my scholar status because of you douchebags...

here is a better idea, it will really **** them off.

once you get claim have a brd, rdm or blm sleep it, for good.

im sure a high enough level could keep him slept as long as they wanted to. especially a rdm or a brd.

Constant checking, following you, camping on you, all classifies as harrassment under the ToS.

Make polite attempts, requesting that they cease such actions. Then call a GM. They will review the chat log.

Sometimes they even do something about it.

that's a very good idea. when i camp in Beudaeux (sp). I always bring at least 2 others with me to camp things. I merely provide a distraction (I cast NA spells on bots so they auto target me.) I heal so they can go directly from one kill to the next..that or I just simply stick around and kill things off myself.

Just a quick update on this.
Last night was ridiculously fun. Jnag, Evilpickles, Effie, Selfie and I all went down to Ordelle's Caves to try and camp this little bugger (Stroper Chyme) as Jnag needed and still does need the rings for his SAM. Well after almost an hour of unsuccessful voke spamming and realizing the fact that Team Jerry and Team Love have had all the time in the world to perfect the camping of this spawn we started trying to negotiate one pop that we would be able to get.
Unfortunately this did not go as we thought it would but rather
turned out to be a tad bit more interesting. After several attempts at communitcating with Jerryx and getting a flat out NO as a response to {Beastmen} {please} {can I have it?}.
I sent a tell to one of the other Jerry's that I am quite partial to. I finially got a response after flat out asking if we could please get the pop one time he/she said SURE. We were so stoked, so we sat there waiting in the big room in Ordelle's (where the Napalm spawns) waiting to see if they were going to be true to their word.
So we start the timer because we have someone watching the other spawn site so we would know how long we would have to wait for the next location to pop. We setup camp around the area we expected it to pop and sure enough they all showed up again and positioned themselves around the room and when it spawned Jerrym VOKED IT. We were freaking out like wtf?!?!?!
At that point I walked right up into the mob and emoted a stare and a question to Jerryx. And here's the kicker.
Jerryx invites me to party with them. So I quickly disband from LS party letting them know what had just transpired and sure enough after the Jerry's kill the pop that was supposedly supposed to be ours I find myself grouped with Jerryx and Jerrym.
So we ran around grouped together for about an hour trying to get the pop. So this leads me to something else that there is a thread in this forum about
Gil sellers is this why they are so agressive
The reason Gil Sellers are so agressive is due to the fact that they are competing with 2-3 other companies (I'm assuming) at the same time to get the drops they want/need to sell for gil.
Another thing to other than not knowing enough english and the english they do know being broken the Jerry Team is actually nice and will treat you with respect as long as you are decent to them.
Sadly we did not get the drop that we needed but I did get screenshots of me partied with some of the Jerry's last night and I'll post those as soon as they get uploaded as proof of everything I just said in here. In any event rate me up or rate me down for this but this is my recollection of events (to me a fun night)

I thought about that but the thing is even though they are hated that are people just like everyone else. I also learned their secret to the way the get thier voke on so fast but thats a story for another day. Mostly I guess you just have to have faith in the fact that some people are still decent. Which even as hated as the Jerry's are I'd assume they still play and live by some form of ethics. Besides Quartermaster wasn't set so I was literally praying that if it did drop they would be fair about it.

This weekend some friends and I were bored so we decided to go play with Stroper. We got the claim once and boy was that fun. I think we had everything on that level trained on us by the Jerrys and their cohorts. And apparently they, too, know the bind trick, which was about the only thing that would work on us since our group is 58+.

It was fun, though, just to harrass them. We'd get /tells from various jerrys saying 'I love you!' and similar things. When one of our team said, in say, Jerry = {Too weak} they replied a few moments later with 'you too'.

It was fun. None of us cared about the drop, really. So, if you're bored and don't have to worry about aggro, go kill some time in Ordelle's Caves. Tell them Ray xiaojie sent you and you're guaranteed at least a couple of beetles bound next to you XD
