no its not true. but if you are attending them they cant prove your not fishing yourself maybe thats where the misconception came from.

log parsers arent even allowed (keeps up with stats of yourself and your party). the TOS bans all third party software, even fraps. (used for taking pictures but not having to close all windows in the game, like chat log.

p.s. i hear marijuana is legal as long as you smoke it when no cops are around.

MPK me I bot everyday, in fact I'm botting right now as we speak. Yeah that's right, I can just stand there and fish for hours without responding to you and I'll be botting. That's like saying if someone don't like your casino they can MPK you. I hate botting yes, but to make such a statement seemed kinda condescending.

I dont think its cool to bot, and alot of others dont either.. I know that my method of getting rid of them is not widely accepted by many people, but thats what i do..

Bowser, i know you in game, and i would not MPK you, you have helped me on so many occasions, and i even had a pearl to your old LS Forgotten Dream, i dont want any hard feelings between us, i consider us friends..

and just for the record, i really havent been paying attention to killing bots lately.. but if i find one. well you know what happens..

And anything which makes it easier for some people to get money without making it easier for everyone to get money unbalances the economy of the game. Makes it more unstable. Promotes inflation.

Additionally, some people find botting to be bad sportsmanship, so to speak. I would agree.

Although like Bowser I disagree with MPKing anyone, under any circumstances. Vigelante's of any sort tend to produce more chaos and more problems. IMO.

Fish bots pisses me off. They are inflating the economy with gils that should not be there. Fish botters buy up AH stuff at very high and unreasonable prices, making people that tries to make a honest living harder.

Fish bots are also hurting honest fishers like me. SE kept think of way nerf fishing because they assume that will reduce botters. But all they really accomplish is to turning honest fishermen away. Adding random "anti-botting" code is a bunch of BS. A random string of no bites only turns honest fishermans away. Botters couldn't care less. They will just leave their bots around longer to get the same amount of money. No time off their backs.

I've been called a bot many times, and rightly so from the viewpoint of other players. I am on a PS2 and use a wireless controller to fish. Often times I'm doing homework or something of the sort. Therefore I'm not always paying attention to the TV. So keep in mind, just because someone does not reply to your /tells does not always mean they are a bot.

On a sidenote, I was fishing in East Ronfaure one day on a bridge with 2 other people. One got agroed by a mob so, being the nice person that I am, killed the mob. The person didnt do anything after that, didn't rest, didn't say thanks or anything. So I figured it was a bot. About 10min later, another mob agros it, and I /cheer the mob on as the bot trys to fish while being attacked by the mob. The bot died and I /em points and laughs at the bot. Awww good times...
