Crafting = DONE!Follow

#1 Oct 12 2004 at 3:09 PM Rating: Excellent
I finally did it! I reached my goal, and I am satisfied.

Alchemy: 91
Bonecraft: 60
Clothcraft: 60
Cooking: 60
Goldsmithing: 60
Leathercraft: 60
Smithing: 69
Woodworking: 60

I am a complete crafter! /cheer

Note: I normally tell people to not spend their 40 "master" points in odd numbers; to spend them in multiples of 10. However, *I* will not be crafting anything over my skill in either smithing or alchemy, so I know I won't be losing points in either.

I did a shout in Bastok when I finished and only my LS mate cared ><

#5 Oct 12 2004 at 3:39 PM Rating: Decent
Congrats!

I might prevail upon you for leveling my own Alchemy, my LS mates want me to be able to make Cursed stuff ^^

Currently stuck at 39, vitriol is a pain, the Treant Bulb prices at the AH are insane, so I guess I go farming >.<

43-51 is Holy Water I believe, that should be a bit easier 8P

Mostly I'll have questions post 61, would you be willing to share with me what you did past that level?
#6 Oct 12 2004 at 4:00 PM Rating: Excellent
Past 61 is easy to tell about. Because unfortunately there's not a lot you CAN do that won't be an utter waste of your time/money. And the stuff you are doing is still gonna put a serious dent in your pocketbook, just not as bad.

Venom dust>venom potions>venom boltheads Do not be tempted to sell ANY of the dust/potions. You WILL need it for the bolts (which require a small amount of smithing skill, 12 I believe).

In between potions and bolts you can do holy mauls if you find plenty mauls for sale. These sell for a minimal loss, but they are quick and easy and can be sold to a vendor.

Ouka ranman, when I did it, worked out great to 84, however this was before they changed the yield on it. So I dunno how good it is now, but worth looking in to, This requires a small amount of woodworking skill (30s I think). If you don't have the WW skill, you can do bloody boltheads to 81 (also smithing ~12) which are painful, but they do sell.

Repair comp rods to 85 if you enjoy fishing. It's not fast, it's not cheap. But hey...it'll get the skills. This caps at 85.

And then, there's no real way around it. The "hell" stage...creating comp rods. Ohhhhhh I hated that step! I actually blew up large chunks of money making cannon shells (cap at 94) just to avoid making comp rods which sell so slowly it made me sick.

After that, it's really a matter of picking which item has the most ingredients for sale and won't make you cry LOL.

Oh, and Ryath, I did it by concentrating only on crafting (well except for a short period where I raised nin to 13 *snicker*). If I'd had any real interest in leveling I'd never have been able to do this so well LOL.

How much do you think you spent on cooking? I want to level that craft up when I get a chance (Read: Enough money).

Wow ^^ Impressive. I rated up just because your awsome if you can do all that!!
#11 Oct 13 2004 at 12:45 PM Rating: Excellent
Tollen, I'm not really sure how much I spent on cooking. I know I followed wolfsfable's guild (40 on 40k) so I know it was at least 40k LOL. Maybe 100k to 60? Not really sure. It was one of those skills I didn't pay much attention to the money on as I went along, as I was leveling with my husband at the time so my money tended to fluctuate a lot.

Plus I took it to 70 then revoked my title so I could take smithing over, so what I spent was more than what anyone else would have spent to 60 LOL

----------

For some odd reason I got rated down in the tradeskill forum >< I don't really care about my karma level, just wondering why someone would feel the need to do it. This wasn't a very controversial subject, after all LOL

They're jealous.

I rated you back up. Started Holy Water this morning woot! Then it's on to Cermet. Anyone know where a 51 WHM could farm Magic Pot Shards, or am I stuck buying from the AH?

Heh. It's normal I shout back when you annouced it in Bastok.. We're friends.

Only thing that's bugging me right now is that I know this means you will quit FFXI as soon as you get ahold of Everquest II.

Well I will wish you good luck there, but still I think its sad to lose a crafter of your skill.

Not to mention that the LS will probably be even quieter (SP?) when you will be gone.

/em kneels respectfully before Jexra.

You will be lost but never forgotten.

Your buddy with the worst temper ever,

Wick xxx

EDIT: Once you're gone, who will hug me when I'm having a bad day? Who?? *sad*

Congratulations Jexra. I know how long you have been working on your skills. Smiley: smile I must not have been on when you hit that fine mark. Smiley: grin I am sad I missed it. Smiley: cry

I hope That we don't loose you completly when EQ2 comes out. The LS will NOT be the same without you.

In a vain attemp to keep you around longer....

You know, you will never be a craft master until you get your Fishing up to 100 though. With the Armored Piscese out there, that is a bit easier to obtain now. ^^

Bah, fishing isn't a craft =P It's a skill, but there's no crafting involved.

100 Fishing was never a goal for me. When I started fishing it was only because I wanted some extra money. I kept with it because it gave me something to do with my hands while I read. Then the whole rusty cap thing kept me going. Once I realized my crafts were more profitable than fishing, I stopped caring about fishing so much. Plus I discovered I could craft while reading my book too, so I didn't even need to give up reading while playing LOL.

Plus no more Lu's means it'd take 3 times as long to get to 100 and that gives me a headache just thinking about *snicker*

And anyway, FFXI + CoH + EQ2 for 2 people would be paying too damned much per month for games LOL

grats jexra, i dont know if u remember the last time i asked you to craft holy shield for me that i found out the holy shield price itselves cheaper than the material price required for it, that is mana barell (sold for 100k in AH how could this be?? O_o)

now the only thing that you worried is about level up (you will lvl fast cuz you dont have to worried about lvling crafting skill anymore) as for me im worrying about lvling and skill up crafting ; ;

Lvl up fast and find a nice HNM LS I believe everyone will want to recruit you with those high lvl crafting skills

Grats again!

Nah, I'm quitting when EQ2 comes out. Mostly "quit" now as I don't really feel the urge to play anymore. The only thing that truly interested me in the game was crafts, and since those are done...so am I =)

Plus I don't want to party. If I could solo to 75 with my warrior, I would LOL. The only reason I'm at 38 is because I duo'ed with my husband until he quit. Never partied.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Yeah I remember you and the holy shield. I intended to try and make one myself after that to see if I could HQ it, but ya know, I never DID make a holy shield. Hmmmm....I may log in just a bit longer *giggle*
