The thing about Sniper rings are, they dont seem to be regulating at a steady price. I've taken time off farming to make enough money to buy a Valkyire Mask, im about 20k away from getting it and im pretty proud of myself. But i know i sure as well wouldnt be buying it if i knew the prices would be jacked up another 50k the next week, and next, and the next as it seems Snipers have recently.

Snipers are what, 600k now? i know they were 550k last i checked, and some LS mates said they hit almost 600 now. If this continues to go on, the rate that i gain gil at compared to the price influx of Snipers are gonna be what stops me from getting it without having to pull my hair out :/
The sad truth is though, i KNOW i will need it sooner rather than later. So i will most likely start trying to save up, but im sure as hell not going to like it if it jumps another 100k next month.

Every little bit helps with MP refresh. The price of Vermillion Cloak is outrageous but the price of stuff on the auction house reflects rarity, not utility.

On the benefits of the cloak, White Mage and Black mage would benefit from this the most. The cloak is not meant to replace the armor a mage usually uses; it is meant to add to it. Like the Dark Staff, you equip Vermillion Cloak when sitting to give you some extra refresh while you are kneeling. With SMN refresh and Vermillion refresh, and Yagudo Drink and/or Refresh spell effect, you gain back what....5-7mp a second plus the base rate every 15seconds +10mp from Dark Staff.

Some mages use it as a main because it is a status symbol. I would wear it a lot too but I would never wear it while casting spells in party. What is the use?

Sniper Rings cost more because there are more players playing and reaching the upper levels. With a greater demand and less than steady supply, the price for each item goes up. It's an inevitable consequence of the way the economics are set. If a week goes by and no one wants snipers, people will begin placing them in the AH lower after they are returned, just in case someone is trying to big a few 10k's or even 100k lower than what they were priced at before.

I don't know. Maybe it's just me.

Yeah, they're at 600K now. Man...that's just disheartening. No idea at all on what I'm going to do about that.

Y'know, I do agree with you. Every little bit does help. But lately, I've been getting into parties where I can't seem to get rid of my MP for the life of me, so it'd be a bit of overkill. ^^;

That's exactly what I was trying to say. Damascene cloth is a quite rare component in comparison with say, an Archer's Ring.

I understand they are two very good pieces of armor, but I don't think your going to be booted for not having one. Especially the Vermillion Cloak. It's good armor, but I think everyone understands that some people dont have 3 million to blow on level 59 armor, and will have to settle for getting one when they find themselve's in an HNM LS.

so you all know tetsai hasnt taken the time to update his profile

he is a 62drk/31theif, probably listed himself as 15 theif when he first started leveling it as a subjob instead of warrior. also he does have a haubergeon, i am sure i destroyed the spelling of that word.

There are two reasons items like Sniper Ring, Ochiudo's Kote, and Peacock charm have a great chance of continuing to rise. Both answers are.... cheating. There are botters camping all the higher priced, close quarters NM at all times now. That is cheater #1. There was a time when prices were more stable. If someone jacked the price up on an item, it just didn't sell. Enter cheater #2. Fishing/farming botters/gil buyers now have gil bursting from their pockets. It's not hard to pay 770k for level 34 hand armor when 8 hours of sleep will get it back for you. Maybe the answer WOULD be to stop buying them (if that is even the question). But due to the ability to manufactor fake money with little to no effort, the sale of those items will continue. Try camping some of the wider area NM and pad your wallet. Then, rather than buy those items, buy some +1 weapons and armor (from the crafters, who most of which worked hard to be able to make gil) to make up the slack until you are high enough level to camp NM too tough for botting. I won't EVER see a botter camping Eastern Shadow or Meglobugard! Yes, level 50 is okay to have Argus pounding on you until you return to your keyboard. Let's see someone let a few Dimensional Deaths slap them! XD Anyway, keep your chin up and don't let cheaters ruin your fun!
