Some goblin footprints, ie the ones in Qufim, Ghelsba Outpost, and whatnot yield a replay of quests you've done in the area after you've traded an item to said Goblin Footprint.

ok, so, for instance, I found one in tahrongi(sp?) canyon and also found one just outside and to the north of the gate from windurst woods to east sarutabaruta... are you saying that by trading an item(does it have to be a specific item?) to these, I will have to redo a quest? or that I will get a replay (ie football instant replay) of the events?

needless to say, I am still a little confused other then the fact that ya trade items to the footprints

Ok there are goblin foot prints in each of the zone, if you
trade an item to the goblin foot print a gob will appear and will replay a cut scene in that area if you happened to already seen a cutscene there, if not it will tell you some random thing.

Its like a bard in the city that said pay me 10 gil and i'll tell your story, if you have no cut scene in that area the bard will say, i see you lacking in cash and fame or some crap and then nothing happened.

In tahrongi around or around the major 3 crag there are random question mark on the ground that said, give me what's in your bag. This is not goblin foot print but is used to pop the goblin archeologist, he drop some gold beast coin. What you do is you can trade item in once a day, and the more people trade the closer the voices come to the surface of the ground, until some lucky person that trade it will pop the NM, that is all, not to be confused with goblin footprint in every zone that replay cut scenes.
