I'd like to do a lvl 20 Garrison, maybe in West Sarutabaruta, because I need a Garrison Hose for my THF, and so instead of farming the 50k I'd like to obtain it from a Garrison quest.
So, if you're interested, post here or do a friend search for Freyir and add me. We'll discuss about the date when we'll have enough members to do one.

Sure, so long as we're lotting on items evenly and all that jazz. Name's Fortytwo, taru blm41 and rdm19, can use either once I get another 1.3k on the RDM. I'll be in touch.

I love this sort of thing, of course, as long as everything's even.

BLM33, WHM25, or SMN20. /tell madcowchuck, I'll be happy to help.

I'd love to do it. I'm in the market for mannequin parts, myself. I have three jobs 20+ (as shown in my sig) so let me know what would be most useful.

Freyir! :D

I'll throw my hat in. Personally, I think THF is almost useless for these types of battles, so I'll offer my services as either a WHM or NIN. I'd prefer to go as NIN myself.

And I have my own Quipis, so I would like to get a Garrison item as well. ^^;

Takanaki, do you want to join a new linkshell...? Since you've been in the blue for 8 months now and I assume your old LS is no more.

I'm available almost any time, but anytime *before* 4 PM CST (GMT-6) on weekdays would be best for me, since I don't have a job.

As for Takanaki's request...

Garrison battles basically involve fighting a series of difficult battles at an outpost while protecting a group of NPCs who will also participate in the battle. The names of the NPCs are different for each nation:

Patrician (San d'Oria)
Candidate (Windurst)
Recruit (Bastok)

You can only start a Garrison if you're a citizen of the nation which controls the region in which you plan to play the Garrison battle. Even if you're not a member of that nation, you can still participate in the battle, of course. You also require the Garrison item, which is different for each region. Here are a few examples:

Red Cryptex - Ronfaure (West Ronfaure) Lv. 20, Orcs
Jade Cryptex - Norvallen (Jugner Forest) Lv. 30, Orcs
Darksteel Engraving - Gustaberg (North Gustaberg) Lv. 20, Quadavs
Silver Engraving - Derfland (Pashhow Marshlands) Lv. 30, Quadavs
Seven-knot Quipus - Sarutabaruta (West Sarutabaruta) Lv. 20, Yagudo
Thirteen-knot Quipus - Aragoneu (Meriphataud Mountains) Lv. 30, Yagudo
Sack Of Mithra Fangs - Kolshushu (Tahrongi Canyon) Lv. 30?, Goblins
Sack of Galka Fangs - Zulkheim (Valkurm Dunes) Lv. 30?, Goblins
Ram Leather Missive - Qufim (Qufim Isle) Lv. 30, Giants
Coeurl Leather Missive - Elshimo Uplands (Yhoator Jungle) Lv. 50, Tonberries
Dhalmel Leather Missive - Kuzotz (Eastern Altepa Desert) Lv. 50, Anticans
Behemoth Leather Missive - Valdeaunia (Xarcabard) Lv. 50, Demons

The battles are level-capped based on the difficulty of the surrounding region. The lowest-level Garrison battles are capped at Lv. 20, while the highest ones are capped at 50. The number of mobs spawned is dependent on how many players are in the organized party or alliance. They come in waves, so the typical strategy involved is to have one or two BLMs Sleep one or more of the mobs so that people can rest up between battles. The larger the alliance is, the more difficult it becomes to coordinate the communication involved, which tends to lead to screwups.

If you die, you do lose XP, but it's of the amount related to the Level Cap instituted by the garrison you're fighting in.

The monsters will periodically drop Mannequin parts and other goodies, but the real reward comes upon a successful completion, where you kill all the beastmen and still have at least one NPC remaining. I believe the reward quality/amount varies on how many NPCs are left standing...but the entire group gets a gil reward, and the final kill will drop a piece of Garrison armor and a Dragon Chronicles Page (free XP).

Garrisons can only be done once every 24 game hours, so generally, people will do this BCNM-style, bringing several quest items, and doing them in series.

Does that answer your questions? :)

So, what about doing some Garrisons Saturday at 9AM (PDT) (GMT-8) ?

And I thought about something : if we do the original "I lot on everything", some ppl could get nothing because they're unlucky. I think we could balance the lots : the one's who get one item don't lot anymore till everyone has got at least one item, then lot again. Also, if some people are only interested in specific items in the Garrison, they should only lot on them, but if they don't get it they could lot on other items after it went to another player (I think every Garrison item are about sold for the same price, so it doesn't matter what you get).

9 PST?

12 EST for me... I'm game... I might be able to bring a few people from my LS as well... just be sure to send me a /tell ahead of time so I know if it's still game or not...

Argh!

I really really want to go, but I just committed myself to entertaining a friend of mine while his wife is at a wedding on Saturday. ;_;

I guess I'll have to join in next time... :(

Remember when doing garrison you will be in an alliance of 18 people, and loot is goping to be argued over.

One of the items that drops is "A page from the dragon chronicles" which is rare exclusive.

Make sure you set up a system of lotting.

Lastg time I joined a pick up garrison, half way through the leader made himself quartermaster, and enede up with everything.

A good method, if you are starting the Garrison, tell everyone, you will be getting the Garrison Hoes, as leader if anyone else lots the item, they will be removed.

Also, I think a fair way to do it, everyone can lot on everything, but once they get an item, they are no longer allowed to lot. This means the leader has to pay attention to who wins what lot, as items will be droping throughout the garrison.

Depending on when, I can get myself a garrison item, and some LS people to help, if you need me, I can bring a lot of different jobs, MNK, WHM, BRD, THF, WAR, all with good equip.

Send me a /tell Singular

If I dont see you, good luck.

My old character wasnt even on this server.

Im not always too keen on the linkshell thing, it takes up a slot in my inventory, people are rarely good conversation, I guess I could give it a try.

Thankyou for the offer.

::To the thread starter::

- As for the garrison mission, what sort of mobs will we be fighting? Will they be as hard as BCNM mobs >_>?

- Wouldnt it be easier to do it with less people rather than more?

Actually, I *may* still be in. I'll know better as it gets closer into the week. Right now the odds are at 80%.

As for what mobs? Since we'd be doing the West Sarutabaruta Garrison, it'd be Yagudo, 3rd and 4th tiers mostly. It will likely start with a pair of Persecutors, go up to Theologists/Votaries/Priests, and then Zealots and Followers (as I recall).

I think you should re-read Freyir's time suggestion. She said AM, not PM.

Level Cap is 20. If you want more info, look up and read my long post.
