Funny story...A fellow Linkshell friend of mine was telling us in linkshell chat that he received a rose from another player. Well my friend happens to be a Mithra and a male in RL. The rose was sent from another male in the game....So you can see where this is going. I have always wondered ever since the marriage thing in game how many times this has happened...Dudes hitting on dudes...chicks hitting on chicks. Does anyone have any of their own story's they would like to share about this that have happened to them or a friend.

Im not trying to bash anyone here. I just think it's funny when people see the opposite sex in the game and hit on them thinking they're that sex in RL.

I've never encountered that in the game before.... but then again I don't hit on anyone in the game either... People have rubbed my "taru head" before!

o _ o

I don't have any problems with people hitting on me... 6(-_-) However, people always think my fiancée is a female because he plays a Mithra. *heh*

People pull my tail all the time! I don't mind. I do mind the male characters that simulate the juvenile term for sex....."humping". Especially after I ask them to stop. My 2 cents. For what it's worth.

/em shudders.

I have a story...and it relates to my own stupidity, and another male character.

Ok, I was in Windy with a couple of friends, and I was writing my Silence macro and was going to add another spell to it. The macro quoted a classic movie line and said "Shut up and kiss me my fool <t>!"

Well, I had placed that line into say mode.

Sooo...

When I test it outside the city gate, I mistakenly highlight something else instead of an enemy...

A male hume who was afk.

So while I am trying to work the spell timing out (and wondering why the spell is not going off), everyone who is entering or leaving the city is getting a message in say mode about me saying "Shut up and kiss me my fool D********!" over and over again for about five minutes.

The male hume was not amused when he came back...

Yeah, right Verdigo. "A friend". Uh-huh. I know what you do in the dark corners of Eld. Nec. when you think noone is looking. I thought you, Audion and Vim were a little close.
A friend. Pfffft. ;)

Great thread. So, here's my story:

I was in Sandi as my old mule Tiberious (a HUGE elvaan) waiting to give a pearl to a new LS member. He was being escorted from Bastok all the way to Sandi as like a lvl 5 char (yup, they made it without a scratch). Anyway, his escort was fellow LS member Gliptor (a mithra) that I always thought was a female IRL (good roleplaying...) and her template is the smallest mithra you can be. So, as I was trying to teach some other char. how to sit on the bench near the res. area, the two come walking up. Thinking I was gonna be funny and pull off the old fat ******* line on Glip to "get her", I "/s Christ..she's tiny!"

Well, good ole Glip "/em kneels down to fit it all in" and does the kneel motion... The char. I was teaching stopped and turned to look with a good old fashioned "WTF?" Anyway, colour me embarrased...big time. Cause then I get a tell... "You DO know that's a guy right?" I had a pretty good laugh at that one... of course I do have some pretty incriminating screenshots of Kes and Fionchadd as well....

My LS is kinda weird we like to joke around hit on each other ect. anyways not knowing that this mithra in my LS was a guy i always said stuff to him. Later finding out that he is Bi-sexual. Wow did i feel like a idiot. for now on i always ask you a chick or a guy no matter what race/gender or there name i still ask.

Twice now I have made friends in game, playing a Mithra. They really didnt hit me, but one of them was big in role playing...so I uhh played along, I have no problem with "playing" a female char. In fact all 4 of mine are female, good way to avoid staring at (Man) (Subligear) /em shudders

but both of these people, eventually come to find out Im a guy. one dissapered never to be seen again, and the other wont hardly speak a word to me now. I guess I oughta mention both of them were pretty young.

I can stand a little playfull flirting, but when they, like Cat mentioned, start humping or making rude gestures/comments...it gets under my skin. Maybe Ill just make a macro that says "/em 's wang is bigger then <t>'s."

Why do people hit on other people on a mmorpg? I don't understand this, since it is highly unlikely the person you hit on will be the gender you hope for and will be within driving distance.

Eh, maybe it is cause I am old.

Lol, where better to find someone with your own interests than while doing something that you both enjoy?

I don't look for love in video games...but I have found some awesome friends here that I am starting to get to know in the outside world...

You guys and girls know who you are.

And frankly, even though a lot of em I can't hop in a car and get to in an hour, I still am willing to consider them friends.

Does distance determine a friendship? Or even a relationship...

I do not think so.

Friendship is fine over the internet, in fact I consider it just as good as real life for the most part.

Romance over the net is something of a different stripe though.
A relationship usually requires close contact of the physical nature to help nuture it, and I am not talking just about sex.
Touching and kissing create a bond of closeness that just can't be replicated by /em poke.

I am not saying I am agianst people finding love over the net, just saying it isn't the wisest way to go.

HEY! we were lonely that night...don't criticize (lol)

I have a funny story actually..one day I was in Sandy and wasn't on anon (i was in my 40's at that point)...anyway, i get this elvaan female check me (she is also butt neked). She then says: "hiya sexy"..I respond: "...? do I know you?" she replies "no, but I think yer sexy" (of course I was wearing my holy breastplate so I can totally understand that statement lol). So after I don't respond, she /tell me again "btw, I'm a new player here, could you give me money?" lol...I laughed at her. i mean CMON, some people are pretty stupid. I wonder if people are that idiotic to actually fall for something like that. You know this was some guy playing girl to see how much he could use his gender to his advantage. Funny how sex sells, EVERYWHERE's.
