*sigh*

I am all for the stopping of gil farmers. Go wreck their camps, boycott there items, burn their houses, hire a killer, or even blow up teh world!

Sadly enough, there isn't a way to stop them until about a couple years from now when this game drops out of popularity and people no longer need 'em. Even if we got everyone from this forum to boycott the jerrys and what not it won't be enough 'cause I doubt even about 1/10 of the players on Bismarck visit this forum. There will always be rich kids who buy it, people who don't want to waste time farming, or people who are just lazy. And as long as we have those people, we shall have gil farmers. Of course it sucks, but SE doesn't seem to care so they will continue. If you could get about 25% of the game into the plan then most likely you'd be on to something. And once thatd get accomplish enter the europeans, where some people would just do the same thing a lot of people are doing: buying gil. I'd love to do this, but I don't see stopping them by ourselves a possibility, our only chance is if SE steps up and does something...which they won't.

I saw a Rank 1 THF06 (no sub) today leveling in East Sarutabaruta with a bazaar open.

Only had one item in the bazaar - Bloodbead Amulet. O.o

I'd like to know how that happened...

If I were to make a guess, it was a mule that he was leveling and working on, to get enough fame to raise the size of his safe.

"We will investigate this matter and deal with it appropriately"
I called a GM over 8 Toms running around W. Ron. and that's the answer I got...
I swear they were running Macros, they all did the same thing at the same time. I do'nt care how good the JP are, no one can time things like they did, time and again.
*sighs* oh well, what can we do

It's an automated response, they say that when you complain about bots and stuff. Always.

You know what would be really fun, let's all get together some weekend night and go to one of the NM's they camp and camp it too, if we get the drop, let's sell it and spread the money around to everyone who came (Kinda like BCNM without the payoff ^^) If they leave we move on to another NM that another group is camping. The frustration we cause them would be worth the wasted evening of play ^^

Edit: We would organize the "Camp Crashing" party through the forums, everyone who shows up gets a cut of whatever we get if we even get the NM at all ^^

Didn't read the whole thread so I'm not sure if this was mentioned or not, but theres a group that is ALWAYS in Ordelles Caves camping Stroper Chyme(12min spawn, drops Archer's Ring<300-400k>-used in making Sniper's Ring)It's not a NM, technically...But it spawns in 2 points every 12 minutes and they run back and forth.

They've sold the last 7-9 Archer's Rings. Their name starts with Love. Just two people who hardcore camp it 24/7. Lovelv and Lovest I believe.

I say it also has to stop i got somewhere to camp a nm im alone and they come out of nowhere and steal a mob i was sitting there 2 hrs for waiting to spawn. I mean i get fustraded to the point when im off the game a few days. What the Gms and SE should set up is if theres a number of complants on a person put a ballasta icon on them and make it that someone anyone can attack them whenever whereever. I mean if they r being killed over and over in the game then im sure there stop being Bungholes and play the game right. All this farming for money is crap if u kill it and get a drop ok keep it sell do what ever but if u got the drop like 4 times and go back again to sell over and over then stfu and go away and let someone like me who has 2 nm kills and no drops get a chance. I have camped over 6 NMs and only got 2 grabs one on Lizzy and a orcish baracader the other orc got grabed away b4 i could grab it i could really use that shield and h2h for my mnk and war.

I understand your pain man, trust me LOL I faced the jerrys more often than not and have only triumphed a handfull of times, but you have to realize as I did, that just because you have been waiting there patiently and spending your time, doesn't mean have "claim" of the NM. I know it sounds crappy, but just go to Valkurm and watch all the exp prey steals out there. That's just something about the game we have to realize, no matter how much you despise the guy that steals your kill, he has as much right to it as you, UNLESS HE'S A BOT. ^_^ g'nite

Reality > Fantasy

Do what you want to them, but remember that they're making a living farming and selling gil. They farm Garnet Quadavs and Mee Deggi the Punisher not to have uber equipment, but to pay their rent and buy groceries.

^ And how do you know that? They could be using the gil to buy drugs ect ect. I'm not saying that is definatly the answer, but you can't confirm by any means that they use this money for nessecities.

And that same argument could be made about drug dealing. So, a drug dealer *could* be selling to pay the rent and keep his kids alive. Does that make it ok? Um. No.

Not comparing gilfarming to drug dealing, per say...but just the fact that the money is being used (maybe) for real needs doesn't really mean that it's a legit way to make a living.

What ends up happening though is this. Generally, as people progress in levels, they gil-farm along the way. But they change items as they level, and that balances the game. Gilfarmers get to a pre-set level, STOP, and then farm forever. They are never doing other things for fame or rank or exp ... because past a certain level there's a wider gap for fame/rank/exp -> gil ratio. These are static characters that do nothing but flood the market with various popular farming goods.

The game is balanced when all characters farm popular goods at various times and remove themselves from the raw materials market when they quest and level. The game is UNbalanced when there are people who *never* remove themselves from these markets and keep the AH unnaturally saturated with a lot of popular farming items, thus both keeping the price pretty low (good for crafters!) and making it generally harder for the majority of the players to make money. Not saying they are causing the apocalypse, and of course the game is already somewhat unbalanced -- but they aren't helping. I think most honest players have a good reason to resent their existence in game, and SE's general lack of motivation to do something about it.

Morality or need be damned. If you'll read the user agreement, article (a) under the "Prohibited Actions" section states that:

Quote:

Any activities consisting of selling, purchasing or exchanging "gil" or any other currency that may be used in the Game from time to time, characters, and/or game items for value (including, but not limited to, any payment in kind and any pament in any currency recognized as legal tender in any country, state, territory or any jurisdiction anywhere in the world) through any means or venue, including, without limitation, Internet auctions, or other online exchanges;

Summarized?
Buying and or selling of gil, characters or items in a transaction that involves real leagal tender is strictly verboten. --a bannable offense no less.

This isn't exactly hidden, it's under Rules and Policies > User Agreement on the POL menu, stuffed under the "Play" button.

So, they may be paying the rent by violating the sternly worded ToS, but they're still violating the ToS that you and I are bound to.

Now, boycotting is a great idea, but just like boycotting IGE, boycotting the AH is probably going to fail, as there's no united offensive we can mount. Beyond a mass cancellation of player IDs, I can't think of any practical way to stop the gilfarmers, as SEI isthe only party involved that has any say in the matter.

It's great that we have a community that's willing to unite against these people, and SEI has made it abundantly clear to the playerbase that they want a community feeling, but until they deal with this real and present danger to the player community, I think they can take all these "events" and other ******** and shove it all up their collective asses.

Heeding the wants and demands of your customer base isn't just good business, it's common fscking sense.

Seriously, If you have firefox you can just right-click on the sponsored links and open them in new tab. When you have about a hundred tabs or so, just close the window and repeat. The links don't even come to the front, you don't have to look at the new tab at all. Please do it. I just spent about 10 minute clicking links, and I advise you all to do so as well.
