I'll assume you're not American then. If not, then don't be so ethnocentric. If so, don't stereotype.
I believe the stereotype came one post above the one you're talking about.

You all clearly watch too much american media. All finger-pointing, no real attempts to fix the problems.

The post that ensued was a disgruntled reply to
being stereotyped.
Bottom line: MPKing is against the ToS. Whether you MPK a gil farmer, or just a regular player, you are putting your account at risk.
In this case, there was an overzealous ranger who took it upon himself to put his account at risk in a popular exp area, thus disturbing a lot of people's gaming experience. The players/gil farmers he did this to decided to get some revenge, also putting their accounts at risk, and disturbing a lot of people's gaming experience.
Everyone named here today, yes the RNG too, will be flagged as an MPKer in my book. Any future issues I have with them will be instantly reported to a GM, since it's now known that they are perfectly willing to break the ToS for whatever reason.
Everyone knows that RNGs have one of the best ways in game to MPK a player. It's ridiculous that SE hasn't fixed this bug, and that it continues to be exploited. RNGs, please, don't put your accounts at risk simply because someone is a better puller than you. It's just not a smart thing to do, and will land you on a lot of blists. Shadowbinding on another player is a nice way to proclaim to the world that you're a lousy puller and can't deal with competition. You'd rather dupe than try harder, which is sad.

Rant follows:
And to provoke some thought here, what would everyone say if these "gil sellers" weren't selling their gil. What would you say if they were simple players that farmed 24/7 because they were power gamers and loved having the best gear/most money etc? What would you do if they ran spawns and camped NMs because they were smart and understood economics and knew that if they controlled the supply of items they could also control the price and thus have more gil to buy the gear the wanted? What would you do then, if you didn't have the option to cry "gil seller!!"
You'd have no other choice but to deal with it. So I suggest everyone stop working themselves into a tizzy and do just that. Deal with it. In constructive ways. Not in ways that puts your own account and the things you enjoy doing in jeopardy. I've seen a really great idea crop up lately about sending mass emails/letters to gaming magazines and publications. That's a good example of a constructive thing you can do to combat gil sellers. Taking it upon yourself to MPK gil sellers does nothing but put your own account at risk, and in this case, upset the gaming experience of those around you. Breaking the ToS because you're upset that another person is breaking the ToS is pretty ridiculous.
Another thread was started to list gaming magazines addresses and get the mass email/mailing started. If you feel like you
must do something about this gil selling phenomenon, try starting there.

With all that said, if you truly enjoy playing this game, stop worrying about what everyone around you is doing. Just let yourself enjoy it. Gil sellers don't *ruin* my gaming experience to the point of making me want to quit, so I keep playing and ignore them, because the good in this game far outweighs the bad for me. I'm seeing too many people let gil sellers ruin their gaming experience, and it's too bad.
