Apparently I can rate myself up if I post in my own journal? Or do the rateups in there not count towards your real score? I was just a bit creeped out by it...

Rateings in journals are completly ignored by the karma system. They do not affect your overall rating in any way. Nor do your rates on others in a journal have any effect on them overall.

Thank you Kaolian, I figured that'd be the case - it was just a bit scary to see arrows where I could 1) rate myself and 2) rate myself multiple times on the same post.

The reason you can rate yourself in your journal is because if you couldn't, you also couldn't nuke threads you've created.

This becomes a problem for NORATEd people trying to actually do anything with their journal. Smiley: laugh
