In case the admins miss the OOT thread or it gets too bogged down in *cough* unrelated replies I would like to reiterate here a hearty "thanks guys," for this change. Hopefully this will reduce the number of karma complaints with which you all have to handle.

Yeah i'm kind of curious too. Did they do away with the whole system? Is this just a glitch? Is it just hidden from now on or something? @_@

Looked around, can't find any info on it.

If they got rid of the karma score then why do we still have the rate buttons?
I am thinking right now there is just a problem with the system and it will be fixed... or maybe they made a change and I didn't see the anouncement.

TonberryOverlord they have not retired the system. You still have a karma rating, it is simply hidden from you. I am guessing this was to reduce infatuation amongst the users with a dinky little number.

x8

Without visible karma score, people will just obsess over their rank or postcount >.>

I'm certainly relieved that I won't have to research .02 karma reduction to the extent that I did yesterday. Karma ******** wastes so much of my freakin' time it's just not funny. Some will argue you pay for your numbers, I argue that you pay for us and us spending time looking at why your xx thread got rated down is not money well spent. Smiley: twocents

Edited what I hadn't read yet.

Won't it just raise the number of complaints? More People ******** cause "Someone might be camping them" or "I went down one rank, who's camping me?"

Maybe a few excessively paranoid people, but I do think the admins will notice a net decrease in complaints.

I do think this has been an incredibly positive change. I was very concerned when Illia announced when the staff was tweaking the system and it ended up being "Ratings are now more potent if they are rated multiple times." I had thought that this was their only solution to the problem and now the issue was pretty much closed for discussion.

The people who ***** about karma are generally the paranoid ones anyways though.

Frankly it's sad when the weakest among us dictate the standards of our society. Only by confronting their shortcomings do people overcome their failings.

I liken the removal of the numbers to the installation of wheelchair ramps.
