First I want to thank you for your efforts. I know a lot of time has gone into this. So as I comment I do not want to seem unappreciative for all that you have done.

WoW skin.

1. Rate buttons too far to the right, floating in the middle of nowhere, as other users have said.

2. Maybe it will grow on me, but I do not like having the stars and post count above the avatar, all in one block. I feel it stars and post count just clutter up the name and get in the way, they are extra information and not core information. I very much preferred the older form: Name/Title, Avatar, and then all the extra stuff. It seemed more practical and was more readable.

3. Could you please explain the mechanics behind the new rating system? This was one of my largest concerns when it was announced the the site was being revamped. I am worried that it will not address the core flaws in the system and that with the recent change it will close the issue for discussion.

As I understand it now multiple rate ups/downs will give a greater effect.

For example for a person w/ average of 3.00 karma to go sub-default was 7 I think, now it's like 4.

Like wise rating up multiple times grants a larger boost to karma.

If that is true then we have an even bigger problem than before.

I understand what it is trying to achieve. Now we can rate down RMT faster and users who post guides will get a larger boost for their concentrated effort (one post), but this scales everything, including the abuse. Now people who do CJs (where everyone has an explicit or implicit understanding that everyone in the thread will rate everyone else up) will gain even more karma. While sections of the site that tend to be abusive in rating will have a greater negative effect on the user's karma.

Or is only the amount of ratings required to good/bad a post the only change, with no change for a user's carry over karma? If so then we still have the same problem as before.

In the wow skin, If I click on the title of a thread, the first post is blank. If I instead, click on the arrow to jump to the last post, the last post is blank.

The text on some posts keeps disappearing for me as well. It's so annoying to have to highlight posts to read them - enough so that I may quit this site until the developers roll back the update or fix it.

Names look like they're almost touching the side of the box, which doesn't look very good imo.

That's because they took away the "By:"

FFXI forum here.

Here's how a post looks with the text visible (after I've highlight it to make it visible):

Here's how it looks about 5 seconds later, when I've done NOTHING to the computer, it's just sitting there:

Every single post in all of the FFXI job threads now includes the title of the thread it was posted in. Since i'm pretty sure this is a bug I thought I'd bring it to your attention.

FFXI skin if it matters at all.

Yeah, I believe effects will carry over to your average as well, would be kinda silly having this change if it didn't.

Tbh we'll have to see how it all pans out in the next few days and weeks, but I can see your point.

How about you make everyone Guru, remove the whole rating system and put a [Report poster] button where the two arrows are currently located?

Just a thought. Smiley: dubious

Seems pointless trying to tweak a system that is doomed to fail as long as **** sapiens are operating it.

How would I know they are fixing it. No mention of this anywhere in this thread other than from Fynlar and I.

The ratings buttons need to be moved left, as noted. =p Also, there needs to be some dead space after a post before a sig - it looks awful at the moment.

There are huge gaps between the top of a post and the message.

And on the FFXI skin its nearly impossible to see the Thread INdex/New Subject/Reply to Thread links because they're white on a white/silver background.

After rating posts, at least on the FFXI style, post colors no longer alternate dark blue to light blue.

Here is an example of what I'm talking about: http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/7329/colorsnf4.gif

Not sure if this is intentional or not.

Hmm.

Maybe I am getting old, but it sure looks like the sidebar font and the poster's name font in the eq style sheet is now in 8 or 6 point font. Could ya'll make that a leetle bit bigger please?
