So... why is it ok for guys who find man on man action disgusting to complain, but a woman is looked down upon if she complains about the bouncing bewbs that show up everywhere? Smiley: dubious

I'm just one of those people who doesn't like double-standards. I'm just like that. Got this whole... "What does it matter?" attitude.

None of us were seriously complaining.

The reason why two chicks making out is hot compared to two guys making out (urgh), is because of the 'ghost in the machine' (or in this case, beast in the man) that causes our primal instincts to overrule common and modern sense.

Our inner animal goes "Ooh, double the prize in one package!" when we see two chicks making out. It's like double chance of reproduction (sometimes our common sense kicks in and intervenes with rubber and stuff). It completely overrides the logical thought of "Homosexuality is homosexuality no matter gender".

When we see two guys making out, the same primal instinct overrides the logical "I'm not bothered by it" and turns on aggressive vomitting mode. Because deep down inside our neanderthaler is going "Tap plus tap does not make the puzzle go up" and our animal goes "OH MY GOD, THEY'RE NOT NORMAL! RIP, CLAW, EVISCERATE!"

Of course our common and modern sense kicks in and dampens the latter to a slightly disturbing slideshow of mental images as well as involuntary bowel movement.

We can't help it.

See, I only started this thread because someone expected there to be a "complaining about Nix's avatard" thread in this forum.

So I obliged.

I missed the excitement, I guess. From what I gather, Nixy had guys kissing in his avi? There was another avitard floating around with 2 emo guys kissing that never caused complaints.

Rimey's avitar is sufficiently covered and honestly, for the past 2-or-so years, its how I locate his posts. Getting rid of his would be like closing the barn door after the horses get out and then torching the whole damn farm. (If given more time, I can come up with an even lamer analogy, I bet...)

When I find an avatar I don't like, I block the image. For some reason, I had to block Samira's (sp?) clown. It was creepy and I don't like clowns. Smiley: lolSmiley: blush

This wouldn't be the alla we know and love, if we didn't have some sort of drama. Even if we have to scrape the sludge out of the bottom of the barrel, to find some. Smiley: inlove

Because neither of you are men.

It's a man thing, ladies. You wouldn't understand. Smiley: rolleyes

And no, I'm neither homophobic nor closet homophile. I'm not homophile at all, actually.

I was just hyped on caffeine and sugar when I wrote that last night.

Actually Nix's last avatard had what appeared to be two Stone Cold Steve Austins french kissing.

And I don't think anyone complained about the emo guys kissing because they might as well have been women anyway, really REALLY effeminate women.

And this was the one I made in response.

There wasn't any drama, and no one was complaining about them. MDenham was just posting this because we were joking about how someone was bound to post here about it.

I'm not complaining about anyone's avatars, but it seems that people get upset if someone doesn't like bouncing bewbs, but it's ok to make Nix change his.

/shrug

Like GB said. It wouldn't be Alla without some drama. Smiley: grin

From my understanding no one made him do anything. He changed it all on his own. :P

Yeah, Kao made a veiled threat in this thread about re-thinking which avatars were not PG13, or he would KAOSMASH. So, me being the puss I am, I buckled, and changed mine, because I <3 admins. Smiley: grin

That was not directed only at you. And yours, while borderline delt with subject matter that many people, right or wrong, find uncomfortable and I would probably have asked you to take it down anyways after a few days when your point had been made. Remember, OOT is more likely to be visited by the younger set than the asylum, so what may fly there, may not fly in OOT. Believe me, there were several other people in there who would also have been asked to have theirs changed.

I know it wasn't directed solely at me, was just having a little fun with full intent to take it down once an admin was aware of it. It was making me uncomfortable even before I went to bed that night. Smiley: laugh

I didn't think any of them were any worse than Rimesume's avatar. Of course, I don't think that his should be removed either. I guess I just don't see how anyone over the age of 13 is going to be scarred by seeing a clothed breast or two people kissing.
#51 Mar 04 2007 at 11:59 AM Rating: Good
My thoughts are, there are not any avatars that I have seen that are any worse than anything on cable TV. And if kids can see that stuff on TV it is not our job or this sites job to hide things from peoples kids.
