Having some sort of "smartness" meter on each person, where points are deducted for misspellings, or really bad grammar or something and the maker of the thread decides whether to turn the meter on or off depending on if they want randomness or thought out discussions to flow.

it would have been really cool if you misspelled something :)
But I didn't so I'm just cool like that.
1. Too much work.
2. People will get pissed off when they get points deducted for typing in japanese/spanish/french/german/otherstuff.

that still doesn't detract from the coolness factor tho'.
When you're the one that has to do it, too much work ≠cool.
