is because... they can't spell Allakhazam. Seriously.
Whenever somebody needs quest/item/whatever help in WoW, I always direct them to Allakhazam. Very frequently, however, their response is "I use thottbot or wowhead because I can't spell (or I'm too lazy to) spell wow.allakhazam.com." Dead serious.
So if you want more visitors, IMO the best solution would be to get the zam.com domain up and running, and redirecting people to allakhazam. Also, some misspellings actually lead to gold/gil selling sites (allak azham.com, for instance).
Just something to think about.

They can always google and then google will correct their spelling. If they can't figure that out, I don't know what to say. Given the poor spelling that is often on this site, I'd hate to see the people that are lead astray by spelling challenges.

I do have to wonder though, just how hard is it to set up the Zam.com domain to redirect here? I understand if you want to do a bunch of fancy stuff and roll out a new product but, in the mean time, why not? Wasn't Zam.com supposed to have been up last August or so?

Personally, I bookmark the site and specific threads (e.g. SMN, RDM, Smithing, Alchemy, quests, search, etc.)

It took a few mins, but it's relatively easy.

Unfortunately, not everyone has the same level of intelligence as you and I. Arguably, thott and bot or wow and head are easier. But Zam is better than all of those. 
I often forgo passing out an urls for here cause it takes too long to type (if I'm busy killing stuff)
