#1 Feb 07 2007 at 1:24 PM Rating: Decent
finally wrote down the server i get hung on occasionally while putzing around on Allakhazam.

statse.webtrends.com

webtrends is a marketing site...why would i see my browser hang while trying to contact this server if i have a premium account?

EDIT: just realized i should have probably looked for a tech forum not the wow forum, if i posted it wrong i'm sorry!

I believe it still connects to the add server before alla finds your a premium user and chooses not to display it. This is a complete guess since im not a premium user, but I have seen this happen on other sites. You can block your web browser from contacting these add servers by adding it to a filter.

That isn't an ad, That's our web traffic counter. Basically there is a little 1 pixle transperent gif that loads and it counts page loads based on that.

ah...well, occasionally it hangs for 15-30 seconds while contacting that site. generally if it takes more than 5 seconds to contact i hit f5 and reload and it goes away. is that what it's hanging on or is it something else?

Firefox only displays what was last loaded. If you see the statse.webtrends.com in your status bar, it's Allas that's being slow.
