so i found some plate legs with an asston of +hit on the auction house for 200g...

That is no discrepancy. Averages and medians are not always going to be close to the same. When they are not, it just means that the price is not stable.

Perhaps I'm mixing something up, but isn't 'median' and 'average' basically the same thing?

I think "mean" and "average" mean the same thing... "median" is the number in is a stream of numbers that is closest to the center of the stream.

But isn't the middle of the highest and lowest also the average?

I'll try with an example, perhaps 'average' means something different in English, I'm not sure.

1 - min
2
3 - avg
4
5 - max

1+2+3+4+5 = 15

15/5 = 3

It could be, yes, if the numbers are like you showed, 1,2,3,4,5... but, if you have an ordered series of numbers such as 1,3,3,4,7, then 3 is still the median, but the average is now somewhere around 5.6

they both show median, one's more cached than the other though. I'll see about updating the search.html ah cache more often.
