Database question - need Item ID listFollow

#1 Dec 11 2006 at 2:30 PM Rating: Decent
Hi there,

I have a question regarding the World of Warcraft Database.

I have a mod that will display a static DKP value in the item tooltip. However, the mod itself does not recognise the item by name but by ItemID.

Bar going through quite an extensive list of all our registered DKP values for our raiding community, doing a query on the database itself using the item name and asking for the item ID is much simpler.

Bar trying to figure out a web query of death for your site I suppose the easiest way for me to obtain this is a dump of a table containing both itemname and ID as fields. I doubt the database of WoW items in itself is one huge monster(and if is it doesn't change the question) so my question to you is:

- can I get a table dump containing those fields
- if answer to above question is no... do you know where I can get it?

Thanks in advance,

Halya,

we offer some xml feeds, beyond that we do not release dumps of our table data. I would reccommend against running a spider query on the site too as that bogs things dowen for everyone.

Not to mention we ban your ip, you lose all access to the site and we report you to your isp for abuse if you come back with a different ip.

Not sure if this would be allowable... but, couldnt the OP take WoWreader data collected from his gaming time and open up the files to obtain the info he wants?

Not sure if the data would be coded to look at the specifics he is looking for.

Hi there,

To clarify: I didn't want to stuff things up for anyone, which is why I asked about the data in the first place.

On a side note, you needn't worry about it any more, I managed to obtain what I needed elsewhere. The LootLink mod devs had published a pretty large list of item IDs where I managed to get 95% of the items I needed, I did the rest by hand.

Thanks for the reply anway.
