The name of the person I am talking about is Flixflex. I really thought I started a reasonable exchange of opinions, but this fellow had to tell to write a very juvenile

Quote:
So get off your online high horse, go hire a hooker, and get your kicks while getting aids you little tyrant. Period.

Now granted, I did call him little tyrant first, but Aids...knowing what the disease can do, actually seen what the disease can do, I think he is out of line here. You don't say such things on a forum that should discuss a game and player's behaviour.

Here's the link:

Thank you.

If people telling you to go get aids froma hooker annoys you, I would suggest not starting forum fights with them in the first place. if you flame, you are going to get flamed back, and sometimes the other person will say meaner things. Don't expect the big bad admins to come to your rescue when you start things. It pisses us off when people try to manipulate us into their argument like that.

Alright. If you think I started a forum fight and nobody crossed any boundaries in this matter then we're done here.

Kao, I would like to point out this quote from Flix,
Quote:
And, if they have an issue, of if you have an issue, fuc3ing fly up to Seattle and lets discuss it?

Internet tough-guy right there. Smiley: lol

You clicked on a thread about intentionally D2'ing players against their will and expected a civil conversation? And people say I live in an alternate reality.Smiley: oyvey

When Flix started posting here a very short time ago, no matter what he did, the big bad kids pushed him around. He learned how to push back. You guys need to start understanding that we teach these new posters how to treat us. Maybe you had nothing to do in this instance, but it happens daily and we sub-default newbs to the boards with questions, rather than answering them and backing them up.

Now that that is out of the way: /whine on! Kao! Linus called me a ***** and needs a time out! It was a few days ago, but I have been in a turkey induced coma... My feelings were hurted Smiley: glare

I read many posts on Alla on all kinds of matters and I also notice the many silly arguments that come out of it. I just wonder where a decent website draws the line. Personally I draw the line at non-humorous racist remarks and lethal diseases. Areas a decent person doesn't touch - unless they are in, say, the marines - because they can hurt people to the depth of their soul.

If Alla condones it because a (way) less mean thing was said earlier then so be it. I might as well stop contributing and only check out the forum when I want to know what the latest most offensive swear words are. Nothing manipulative about that. I never knew that the step between the words "little tyrant" and the expression "get aids" was that small and perfectly normal. Let's use that counterremark during tomorrow's meeting at work!

Well, I think it's wrong, but at least I know what the company's position on this matter is.

Take care^^

I understand your point. The company position for the forums is for us to use the Karma System. The boards are to be member moderated. Its not perfect. The admins step in when it gets out of hand, but the responsibility lies largely on the community. Just try to lead by example.

Apparently Alla's admins. think it's perfectly ok for people to wish each other Aids just as long it doesn't get out of hand and the highly dubious rating system should take care of people with an inferiority complex.

Maybe my point would stick better if I was a paying member. Maybe then Kaolian would have looked into the matter before pushing me away like some nine grader and maybe someone would have gotten a message that he should clean up his act.

Alas. Salut^^

PS: Rime, last time I saw you was in Ghelsba for that Windy BC. How are the missions going?

It is perfectly okay to wish someone aids, over the intarwebs.

Smiley: dubious

This can't be a serious complaint thread.

Dude, this is the internet. If you are afraid of some random person wishing AIDS upon you will do anything, pack up your computer back into its box and return to sender (or take it back to the store).

The magicks of teh internets are too powerful for one such as yourself. Smiley: oyvey

PS: And you having a premium account probably (in my 3 years of lurking experience at this board) would have amounted to nil in this issue. Know who and/or what you're talking about before you toss around baseless accusations. Might save you some trouble when dealing with people, and it might prevent you from being mystically cursed with some flesh-eating parasite.

Maybe you would have not started a flame war by calling someone a little tyrant?

Sadly, I don't see how you being a paying member would have prevented that.

Alas.

I've cleaned this thread up.

Keep it civil. The feedback forum is heavily moderated for valid complaints and issues with the site. I don't mind people discussing why something is/isn't a flame or why a thread should have/not have been locked. However, flames and non-constructive posts will not be tolerated here.

Actually, Sallemand, if you would have cared to check the thread before you posted, the other person started the "flame war" by inviting me to come over with:

Quote:
And, if they have an issue, of if you have an issue, fuc3ing fly up to Seattle and lets discuss it?

I ignored that since I am not on the web to start a childish wordbarf contest. In this case I was on to discuss game behaviour.

As for people thinking it's just fine to wish strangers Aids (or other diseases for that matter): fine. I think it's abnormal behaviour. I think it's abnormal that you cannot even discuss anything on Alla these days without being called names that go way beyond the word "tyrant" - a word btw that pointed out the person who shows the behaviour this guy has been showing - and seeing people bend other people's words and sentences completely out of shape.

With even less than half the monitoring this feedback forum is getting, the sentence or entire post I am referring to wouldn't even be on anymore. This proves to me that this complaint of mine is indeed serious.

Try to use sarcasm when it really bites. Now you just sound like someone who only wants to add another post to his total.
