Meh, nothing new really. Posts not showing up even when it says you posted last on a thread. Its hit or miss on whether or not they show up in your previous posts list. Doubleposting may run rampant if this isn't remedied lol. Thanks in advance.

I keep getting bounced back 2 hours. There is a disturbance in the time-warp-continuum-thingy. I guess I will go ***** at thehusbandguy for snoring and then play civ3, or something...

I could only access this thread from the forum list.

It does not show up on the actual Feedback forum.

That's how I found it too, Mazra.

No biggie Dana. Even though I seriously need a life, even I can find something to amuse myself when Alla is down.^^

Seems like you got it working again.

Sledgehammer, apply directly to the mainframe.

Seemed to do the trick, eh?

Turns out it was forum users (un?)intentionally crashing the server for fun. You can blame the Unicorn folks for this one, specifically Smelly and Sockpuppette. Well, and us for not putting in a failsafe against people pulling that trick.

OK, that's fixed, people won't be able to spam the server to death with obnoxiously long posts anymore. The post limit's now 10,000 characters. If that ends up being too small (which it shouldn't, I don't think), I'll raise it.

Ah but what if some posts 9,999 words in one thread then repeats the message over and over again, then what?!

then it's just annoying and they'll probably be banned, but at least the server won't crash

Shouldn't be too much of an issue, except in some of the wordier guides. May get some of the boring posters to remember "Brevity is the soul of wit" ~Polonius.

Hrm, true, a lot of the guides are over 10k. Raising it to 50k.

50k posts are ok? If I posted one to get a general idea of how big it is would you nuke me?

You can do it in a text editor and see how big it is, no need to post it to the site just to annoy me.

I'll do it in The Asylum so you don't have to read it.
