No matter what I search for, even threads I know exist, I get "no matches".

What's up with that?

Irony: When the admin checks it out and finds that search is not only working for him, but the first hit returned was authored by Mazra

Actually, the EQOA forum search is still the old one. I've fixed that now.

Don't feel bad, I've been on both ends of the "I waited a few hours to say something was broken. I finally say something and it starts working again."

Just because it's funny that it's your post that showed up first in a forum search, here's a link. I simply searched for "nizdaar" under content across all forums.

So it's working again? Yeah, apparently it is.

Well, now you're #1 on the list.

Thanks for ruining my moment there. Smiley: frown

Like I said, computers are weird things sometimes. Several times our any one of our content managers have said to me "admin feature X is broken! I haven't been able to use it for days!" It works fine for me. They try it. It works fine for them.

Kaolian will tell you it's the wombats, but I know better. It's the server trolls.

Forum Search NEVER worked for me either. And being it is a Premium feature, made me contaplate weather or not to renew premium before. I have hopes it will be fixed. as do many of us.

"An admin used it an it worked"

big deal? doesnt mean it works for regular users who have access IE premium users. You cannot sit there and compare a working function between and ADMIN account and a NON admin account.

Thats like me telling users on my sites that they can see the hidden forums because I can see them while I am logged into admin.

Search works for me. Well, it was loopy during the forum overhauls last week but in general it works peachy. Faster since they made the changes to the search engine as well.

Working in IT myself, I tend to find that there often seem to be calls in which the mere presence of a tech corrects the issue. I think every once in a while electronics just want a hug from their geeks, and having glitches is their way of crying for attention.

why would I need a ratebot? I can just append 8 billion 1.00 rates to that single post if I really need to.

Oh, right, the humor detector's out of order right now. (Keep in mind I'd made that post before you mentioned what's going on with your mom.)

As for why you'd have a ratebot: because all the other cool kids have one! Smiley: grin (That said, I don't have a ratebot. Me != cool. :->)
