The banners with sound in them need to be removed from Allakhazam. There is no sense in having a banner screaming at about 200% normal volume to get attention.
Either get rid of those banners or lose viewers. It is not that hard to switch to thottbot as a main WoW info source. Stupid advertisement gimmicks are not going to help maintain a profit and will only hurt your site in the end.

allakhazam recieves payment from advertisement. Their advertisement options are based on the number of viewers to their site. Yes, losing veiwers does affect them.

Or just get Firefox + NoScript. I have never seen an ad on alla since I started using it; or on any other site for that matter.
Also, if there is a specific ad that you think is not appropriate on alla, you need to copy the ad source code and post it in the support forums (this one), so they can remove it if it is bad. You can find the code by going to "View" -> Source/Page Source.

Meh. I just got a new laptop and now the banner ads and pop-ups are showing again. No big deal. Just need to tweak a few things and I will eventually get around to it. I must say, though. Yesterday, after Medic's cross server story, I found a banner ad on one of his pages (totally random, yeah, I get that) looking for RPG story writers for some contest. It made me giggle. /shrug.
Today, one of the pop-ups was talking to me. It was some chick and she totally wanted me. I don't know exactly what she wanted me for, though. My babyguy was in my room so I was in a rush to close it, while he was asking what I was watching.
You get what you are willing to pay for and at this time, I am thrilled with the resource Alla gives me for free. I would love premium, but I would have to cut FF (my reason for needing Alla), or my manicures (the only other thing I do for myself, as an at-home-mom). If its a big deal, maybe turn the sound off/down on your pc?
