No, as the RMT side of the business is financially self-supporting.
Whether or not supporting RMT ends up financing Alla is another matter, and a question I'd like to have answered (i.e., if IGE were to collapse completely, would Alla be screwed?).
Perhaps I should change it to "Am I supporting RMT in any way by using this site?" then. It seems odd to me that Affinity Media would buy out Allakhazam just for the fun of it. Call me paranoid, but in big business there's always a hidden agenda.
They're an investor. It's how they make money. And it's what I hope to be doing very soon (well I'm more into start up companies).
They buy out Alla and provide captial for expansion, and then skim profits. There are many reasons why it behooves Alla to do this. For one it means security, because if the site fails and becomes unprofitable there is another backer to take the hit, somewhat like a limited liability partner. It also means he has more captial dollar with which to work. Want to do a major expansion and upgrade all the servers? It will cost money, which an investor supplies.
I'm not as well educated on business as I'd like to be, but I do have a general idea of the relationship Alla has with the parent company, and it is more common than you think.
If RMT and Alla were really mixing money, why would they stop there? Why wouldn't they place Ads on Alla for rmt?
