ever think they might not be able to?
ever heard of this thing called a contract?

if you hate it so @#%^ing much, GTFO already

if that was the case then Alla could not have made the announcement when he did. you only make announcements like this when it is a DONE deal.

he made the announcement, so hence no contract, the deal was then done.

So...Alla, any updates on where zam.com stands?

Haven't seen any EQ2 updates on the main page lately...just wondering.

I dont have to see the contract. Stuff like this works sort of like a NDA.
You beta test a lets say new online game, you must agree to not disclose any info until the owners of the software say that you can (ie.you cant talk about any portion of said deal, until both parties sign all the legal documents).

If you dont abide by this, you are in breach of said contract and can be SUED.

No im not an expert, have never and will never claim to be. But as i did say i have been employed by a couple of companies that have been purchased from others. And i know that neither side could make any type of announcement until all of the paperwork was signed.

The profits from Zam.com that are not rolled directly back into Zam.com will go to the investors who own the parent company. The same goes for the profits from all the other companies they hold. From what I can tell, IGE is a very profitable company

he already did say who it is. read the 3 bold letters.

maybe for someone with no reading comprehension skills

EDIT: and mr ********* next time quote the whole thing, instead of trying to make it sound like what you want it too

From what I can tell, IGE is a very profitable company, so I don't see why any money from Zam.com will end up being spent at IGE. But it will certainly end up in the pockets of the investors who bought both companies. That's just economics.

still comes to same conclusion IGE now owns this website and profits from any one who has Premium paying for it.

It's funny. Because this market consists largely of halfway intelligent cynics (i.e. nerds) who know better and have an outlet to express themselves relatively meaningfully, a sell-out of this caliber has the potential to tank a business. Compare that to, say, cross-ownership in the entertainment industry or corruption in politics. Just a funny thought. Despite our constant mismanagement of energy/time with these games, I can't help but be somewhat proud of this fact.

Well, anyway. That's all for Allakhazam. To hell with the sissy excuses and justifications (and as much as real-world circumstances make such a sale understandable...well, that argument pretty much beheads itself), I think Etain summed it up best:

Quote:
Okay fine, none of the money made off Alla may directly go to IGE, but you will happily live off the money IGE makes, knowing how it's ruined the very games you want to build a community around.

Hypocrite much?

You just can't have it both ways.

LOL! dude who the **** you think owns that parent company WHY! do you think they made a parent company? who runs this parent company, the person who started IGE. they bought up all the websites they could get there rich hands on so they could have places to advertise now not saying alla has gold selling ads every where but it could happen in the future this is why we dont like the merger. and the fact that Alla said he would never do what he did.. look in around the beginning of this thread some one explained what alla said before this merger happened.

All I have to say is that Allah's as a resource for EQ used to be the best. Once the change over happened I gave it an honest looksy but after 18 browser highjack attempts in 2 visits to the NEW Allah's I will NOT be returning. I am so saddened by the fall of a once very useful and wonderful research tool. Now there really isn;t any decent research sites left. Gratz on ur major $ to the creators of Allah's, the ruination of yet another great site to IGE, and the loss of many disgruntled individuals such as myself.

Not sure if anyone asked this yet (I tried reading most of it, but started to get a headache from all the whining).

Just curious how much you made from this sale?

I don't care about anything else.

RMT? Don't care.
Corporations? Fact of life.

I've been a member for almost two years, and have jumped through a few games in that time. Now that I play WoW, I never even hear about RMT. This site has always been here for me for all my info needs. I've never had any issues with RMT owned sites (don't wanna buy gold/gil/isk/plat etc? Don't click the ******* link).Smiley: twocents

Our guild is one of the many hosted by Guild Wizard. Functionality has been sporadic at best for all of us there. One day nothing works...the next day the main page works...the next day everything works but the forums... It's getting a bit old.

Any ETA on having our sites back up and functioning properly?

Thanks!
