Please respond back to the topic at hand. This is concerning allakhazam being bought, not about some presidents habits.

Basically, I am just concerned about the ads. I fully support the staff in expanding the sites they currently have.

Just my two cents

i believe SE's terms of service is quite concise and clear, there is no ambiguity

With respect to game titles operated by the PlayOnline service, including FINAL FANTASY XI, it is specifically prohibited to sell game currency, characters, or any other in-game items for real money or any other consideration for value (known as Real Money Trade "RMT"). This prohibition is expressly referred to in the following two clauses, which are part of the respective agreements which all registered users of the FINAL FANTASY XI and/or PlayOnline services have agreed to abide by:

*PlayOnline Member Agreement: Article 4.4
*FINAL FANTASY XI User Agreement: Article 3.1

people who buy and sell gil are violating a legal agreement, in effect criminals

whether or not there is punishment for violations is another story

is it a big crime? ... it depends on your perspective ... but no matter how much you try and rationlize it ... you are not following the rules that everyone is supposed to follow

I just love that aruguement that if you can't boycott or avoid EVERY single part of a Multi-national corporation then there is really no point in doing it all.

violating a legal agreement != being a criminal.

for that matter, cheating on your wife != being a criminal, cheating on your taxes != being a criminal, and going 10 miles over the speed limit != being a criminal.

i honestly think we should just wait and see what happens i mean they aren't going to be selling plat or anything here so why would we be upset about it??

also lets quit the BS flaming here and get back to the point of this all...

  • IT'S ALREADY DONE THERE IS NOTHING WE (THE COMMUNITY) CAN DO ABOUT IT, SO YOU HAVE TWO CHOICES SHUT UP ABOUT IT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS OR LEAVE...

  • no one is physically stopping you from leaving... i mean is someone holding you here saying YOU HAVE TO STAY AND ***** SOME MORE?

no... just go you don't need to be here.

I don't believe for a second that you have an S55 or any actual wealth.

People with real wealth don't care about tacky things like "fancy" rims.

Ghetto trash and ghetto wanna-be's that think 100$ is big money are the only ones that care about that crap, and blow everything that they have on showing off what little they have by getting tacky crap like "fancy" rims.

The fact that you think so highly of your rims shows what kind of poor and trashy ghetto-be you really are.

there are 'rules' the SE clearly outlines

getting away with breaking a rule

    or

not getting caught breaking a rule

    or

not recieving harse punishment for breaking a rule

does not mean you didn't break the rule

to play ffxi, you agreed to a certain set of rules ... you can't break those rules and say you are justified in breaking those rules for reasons like you have the money to do it

having money to spend does not put you above the rules of the game

No offence, but there lies the difference between "new money" (essentially poor people who come into some cash), and "old money" (people who have real wealth, and know how to keep it).

If you spend it all you're not really wealthy, because it's all gone, because you spent it. When poor people come into money, this is what they usually do. They spend it all on stupid worthless tacky crap to show off, and in the end their pockets are as empty as they ever were.

Real wealthy people don't show off. They don't buy tacky crap. They buy what they need, and keep money in their pockets. They don't go around talking about their fancy rims, because they're tacky in the first place, and talking about them is even more tacky.

Real wealthy people are usually socialites, and tackiness is to socialites as stupidity is to Mensa, or.. gil selling is to allakhazam <.<

Breech of contract is not a violation of the U.S. criminal code.

You could go to court and attempt to try it as a civil offense but that wouldn't make the defendant a criminal, even if he's found liable for damages.

Also, by FFXI standards, you may be susceptible to Japanese law.

I found this site a few years ago when I started playing EQ and grew to love it and rely on it. One of the greatest things I enjoyed about the site was that it wasn't part of a huge money grubbing corporation. This was a site owned and operated by gamers for gamers and that really showed.

While I don't like what has happened I am sure it was done with the best intentions of yourself, your staff and the community in mind. However, I am sure this new company only cares about the money and the changes that can and more than likely will occur bother me.

What bothers me is how many good things get destroyed with "the best of intentions" in mind.

You mentioned earlier that nothing will change as long as this site doesn't start to "bleed money".

    I have a few questions:

    1. When you say "bleed money", are we talking a monthly/annually % decrease in net profit or a total loss of net profit?

    2. If it gets to the point where this new company does impose changes, to what extent can these changes include? Are we talking an increase of monthly charges or a complete site overhaul and do these changes have to go through you first?

I don't know whats worse, hearing about this or reading about V:SoH joining up with SOE.

I'm sorry if this has been posted before, but after reading only the first few posts I was so incensed that I went straight to Google, and after a few minutes of research, discovered the following - THEY ARE ALL IN IT TOGETHER!

FACT 1. Allah is the head of every major Muslim terrorist network, it's like they all practically worship the guy. I found references to him on the Al-Jazeera site and he was quoted by Al-Zarqawi on CNN just the other night (funny how they all start with AL huh?). This guy knew about 9/11, 7/7, and remember, remember the 5th of November, HE KNEW ABOUT THAT TOO (omniscient anyone!!).

FACT 2. Illia sounds Russian. He probably made the money to start this site by smuggling in Soviet hookers. All those poor young girls down on their knees, taking donations for Illia's Bestiary..... Disgusting.

FACT 3. Yantis lives in Hong Kong (which is close to China)!!! He is possibly responsible for ALL the sweatshops filled with Chinese Gil/Gold/Plat/Pixel sellers and farmers. Remember folks, buying gold with real money is CHEATING. It's evil. It's ruining "My World" I only come to this web-site because it's full of spoilers, hints, maps, and walkthroughs. I don't want to see adverts for dirty IGE on my beloved pages. I want to "earn" the cash by myself.

So we have the Arabs, the Chinese, and probably the Russians involved in this. It's all a plot against the great multi-national, globalisation(ing), capatilist values of America. They're only in it for your money people.

    Who woulda thunk it.

I quoted areas of posts that I was responding on. with out quotes then you would sit there and go... what the heck is this moron talking about?

Also alot of people arent reading all 19 pages.... this is due to lazy ness. so instead of spending hours explaining a post it helps them.

The Japanese branch of SE won;t bother with you if you are in the US or another country. there are branches in these countries that handle that.

also Some EULA are contradictory to what US law stands for. Like. By US law a person is allowed to decompile and edit executables as long as they donot distribute. But companies are puting it in their EULA's that it is not allowed.

Also things like making backups of software/movies/cds you own. that was always your right as an american. but now software compnies are like 'look we dont care you cant have a backup if something happens to your cd by a new one' rediculous.

Smiley: lol Wasn't trying to argue with you really, more of a statement. I know very little about US law, let alone Japanese.

also lets go into testing on animals of products...

since we all seem to care so much about a VIRTUAL (FAKE thats right a FAKE) COMMUNITY AND GAME.....

hell just cause it affects a GAME (something that is suppose to be fun) you all seem to care but last week did any of you give a shi^ about anything else going on?? no... you knwo why cause it didn't matter that was happening.

thats all i have to say now i'm done here with this....
