Thought Id see if anybody else has had a similar thing happen to them.
About 3 weeks ago I put GTA 5 for PS3 for sale on Ebay. I started the bids at .99 cents and at the end the auction was won by someone for $47 shipped.
Anyways the day he gets it I get a message demanding I issue a refund and that I had sent him a bootleg copy of the game. He said it locks his PS3 up and he wants a immediate refund. I don't know how he could find this to be a bootleg I bought it new from Gamestop played it a few times and put it up for sale. IT even has a special insert with a code that unlocks content in the game that I never used. The game was like new when I shipped it.
So he opened a case against me demanding a refund. I told him ID give him a refund but he has to send the game back to me in the condition I sent it to him (like new, complete, etc.). So a week ago he mailed it back with a tracking number and I am still waiting to get it. He has contacted ebay again and I am being told I have 48 hours to issue a refund or ebay will make a decision for me.
I don't know if this guy is trying to scam me or if it just isn't working on his system.. Something else I suspect is he found the game cheaper as several black friday ads had it for $35 brand new. I didn't take any picture of the game for the auction I just used the stock photo provided by ebay. He is sending me something in the mail but I wouldn't be surprised to find a CD-R in a cd case or a broken game or something along that lines.
His address was an APO address which I understand is for military personal? I get the feeling if he sends me a broken/fake disc back I am going to have no way to prove what he did and ebay will side with him and I will be out $47 and my game.
