With the strong Aussie dollar, do people have any experience with importing a guitar from the US? Any suggestions of retailers/online stores?
Will there be any Australian taxes/duty to be paid if I do import if its over a certain amount?

No clue, I just know I still have about 20 guitars from when my dad passed away that I need to get rid of.
Of course there will be taxes/duties to pay, no matter what the import cost. If you buy from a reputable retailer, it will most likely be included in the purchase price. If you buy it from Tyrrant, then a Commercial Invoice will need to be filled out, with the shipping courier that is used.

Not sureif you are looking to sell them or simply remove them, but have you considered donating some or all of them to local high school Jazz bands and or potentially church / non-profit music groups? Most of those should be able to give you a donated item reciept of some sort, then you can claim the value of the guitar(s) on your taxes as a chairitable donation. Might be worthwhile financially, plus then you know the guitars would get used

I originally had about 60 different string instruments, sold most. The value on some are a bit more than is worthwhile donating, though that is a great idea for a couple. Sadly my dad was a bit of a hoarder, Ended up with all those instruments, a ton of random collectables and over 50 bikes of different types.
