I got home from work today and it was 59 degrees in my house. I had to turn the heater on.

It's been two and a half hours and it's still 59 degrees in here.

Dammit.

I'll bring the kerosene

I resent that you guys are implying that Alma lives anywhere in my house.

Take it back.

Suppost to drop into the 50's tonight I might have to take out the space heaters here.

Maybe he means that Alma lives in every closet, just like Jesus lives in every heart?

I don't understand why you need the heat on.

It was like 34 in your temperature units up here last night. Not much warmer in England.
It's 45 now. 89ish in Karachi. Mh.

To be fair, I'd consider your temperature pretty close to ideal. Smiley: smile
I haven't actually put on the heater at all yet this year. If it really gets so cold I'm sitting wrapped in my blanket, I'll just close the window. Then again, that stuff is probably a lot more expensive this year and I might actually end up paying more rent if I overuse the electricity/gas.

It's 77 at 12:30 AM, it'll be about 85 tomorrow afternoon. In a month it'll be 70 at night and 80 during the day. Middle of winter is 65-70 at night, 75-80 during the day.

The difference between the coldest winter night and hottest winter day is about 30 degrees on average. So why aren't you out here yet?

I love having my apartment at around 60 degrees. Except when I'm just getting out of the shower; then I feel like I'm about to die of hypothermia.

Our southern brethren tend to become unhinged in the cold. One or two inches of snow is enough to cause chaos and close schools.

59 is barely long-sleeve t-shirt temperature.

It's 45 degrees right now. I'm a bit chilly, but I refuse to turn the heat on just yet. Not until November. Or possibly tomorrow night when it's supposed to get down in the 30's. Ugh.

We really only keep enough road salt on hand for maybe one day, and that's probably only counting the major freeways.

Get back to me when a simple Cat 1 hurricane hitting New York doesn't make the national news.

You don't need road salt for 1-2 inches of snow. You don't even need winter tires for that.

If a freak storm came through and salt was needed, but not on hand someone would at least be yelled at somewhere. Luckily for this person they apparently had the resources and foresight to prevent this from happening.

Yup, but 1-2 inches is only worthy of calling a freak storm when you become unhinged at the sign of anything. Like you southerners.

It's a brisk 47 right now. Low of 25 tonight. It snowed a few miles away the other day. Yay Midwest.

So far it hasn't gotten cold enough for the space heaters to even go on. I have them set at 62 degrees.
The tems have been droping into the 40's the last couple of nights but it makes it to the mid 70's
each day.
#26 Oct 20 2011 at 11:37 AM Rating: Good
This week a cold front came in down here and we haven't gotten above 68. Compared to the 90s it was the day before, it's a bit of a shock.
