I have recently made friends with one of my friends roommates. In the beginning, we were getting along great but now I am starting to get annoyed more easily with her. This happens to me a lot. I make friends with someone and the more time I spend with them the more annoying they get to me. I am trying something new this time. I am trying to distance myself a bit from this person in the hopes that if we don't hang out as much, I won't want to stab her. I am wondering if this is just a quirk or mine or if everyone has this problem. When you spend a lot of time with someone, do they start to annoy you?

That happens to me sometimes, though I generally just hate people.

I'm not very quick to make friends. I have 2-3 people that I see on a regular basis that I can stand for long periods of time but mostly, my homicidal urges rise the more I see and talk to people. The little things about them will start to annoy me more and more until eventually it's either I stop talking to them for awhile or I take an ice pick to their eyeballs.

It used to happen to me until late in high school when I made a new group of friends, who rarely ever annoy me. That core of 10-12 guys have been my best friends ever since. We're all very similar yet very different.

It doen't take time for me to annoy you.
In real life I try to be friendly and put up with people as much as possible. Some people call it tollerance and
wisdom that comes with age. However, you do find people that you soon find you just cant stand to be
around. At that point I like to avoid them if I can.

I love the majority of my RL friends, but I get uncomfortable if I'm around them for too long. Only a handful of people have been successful room mates with me, and even then, it's because most of them also like their private time. (My husband is the exception, but he's allowed, which is probably part of why I married him in the first place.)

I have yet to find a person who doesn't annoy me greatly when I spend a lot of time with them.

With flatmates, I just sort of lock myself in my room most of the time.
I have a flatmate at the moment who wants to hang out with me all the time. It's good he's in full-time employment and I'm in full-time education. He's lovely, but sometimes I just don't want to talk to him...

I think some people don't need alone time, and I thought I didn't need any for a long time. Before I realised that reddit time is alone time.

If I don't get plenty of alone time somebody is going to have to clean up the corpses because I sure as hell ain't gonna clean that mess.

This. I have a fairly social job. I have to constantly interact with clients as well as my co-workers. By the end of the day, I just want to be left the hell alone.
