Back when I went to college I was suprised at how many of my classmates were homesick. Several actually gave up college and moved back within the first few weeks. I guess everyone is different in a way. I thought it was great to be away from my parents and on my own.

I moved my senior year of high school from Kentucky and I wanted to go to UK but I couldn't and this year is my freshman year and it sucks. I hate the school I go to.

Having just started college, I can safely say, no, not really.

But I live 45 minutes away from home. It's not hard to go back.

I did 2-year college in England (as planned). Wanted to get my actual degree in either Lahore or Karachi, my mum refused to sign my scholarship documents if I applied there, so I ended up in Scotland.

Still going to go there for an internship if it's possible.

The weird thing is, I didn't even feel homesick in Florida. And Florida was horrible.

Because home means being near your mum?

I think the people in FL might have been worse.

Mostly I think it's that my parents' places really aren't home, and I haven't lived in a place for more than 2 years at a time since 2004, anyway, so none of the places after that were really home, either.

I think once you're alienated from whatever your home was to begin with, no place really is as binding anymore. If that makes sense.

I used to get homesick whenever I'd leave Tucson, but I chalked it up to the place I was just not being up to snuff. Once I lived in Colorado, and now I miss that place more than my "true" home. Just depends on where you are, I think. Oh, and **** El Paso.
