Xenoblade Chronicles could be one of the best rpg's EVERFollow

now id like to start by stating i particularly dislike the wii due to the controls and lower end graphics but this game blew me away.

I give this game a solid 9.9/10 for the following reasons.

The Good:

The game has quite possibly THE best storyline ive ever seen. Every character in the game has a back story and plays an integral part to the main story. All the characters you end up going on your journey with have great voice acting (European version) and actually feel like there real. This is one of those games that you can really feel connected with the characters your playing as or with.

The amount of quests, side-quests, Monsters, weapons, armor, and things to do in-game is absolutely staggering.

The in-game areas rival the biggest games ive seen to date. You remember trying to run across the world in FFXI? Yeah well this games like that on crack with area size. The snow map in-particular took me a good hour and a half to navigate through without fighting any monsters. Theres many secret areas that dont show up on map and are hard to get to. One in particular being on the snow level i had to slide down a mountain with ice on it and fly off of a ramp and "try" to make it to the highest point on the other mountain that i could land on. Doing so got me into a lvl 99 area with a secret area and dungeon. It gave me such a feeling of accomplishment.

The monster's in-game were great. It wasnt the standard copy paste deal they pull in most games where all they change is the color of the monster. There was a ton of different types of monsters some of which could only be defeated in certain ways. And the sheer size of some of the lvl 99 Monsters is astonishing. Do any of you remember the giant monster in FF13 Titan or whatever its name was? yeah nearly that big. Gigantic would be the correct word.

The combat system is fun and innovative. It actually takes some strategy to beat some of the monsters in game and there is a vast amount of moves and strategy's you can implement. The main enemy's ingame have alot of personality as well. They really feel like enemys that need to be stopped.

And one of my favorite things about this game is... that they didnt copy and paste every area of the game like in FFXIV. All the maps and areas ingame have a vast amount of unique and interesting landmarks and areas on the map. Each area looks unique and vastly different while even different parts of the same map have there own feel to them. Whoever did the map design on this game deserves to be applauded for there great work.

The Bad:

Controls are a bit odd with the wiimote. Only because the camera has to be turned with the dpad. Although this can be alleviated by using a classic controller.

The graphics in-game are not comparable to FF13 but they are decent. And they do seem to get better as you progress further in oddly enough. This wasnt nearly enough to deter me from playing though.

Not really a bad thing in-game but this game is currently only available in Japan and Europe so if you would like to play it you will have to softmod your wii and download a copy of the European version online. Dont worry its easy to do.

My instincts said tl;dr, but I did it anyway and now I want to play. I have too many other unfinished games to get into a time-sink like that at the moment sadly.

its not related to xenosaga or xenogears at all.

but yes it is not currently available in the us. theres a very easy to do softmod for any version of the wii out there and with usbloader gx you can play the PAL (European of this game) easily with no difficulty and its basically the same as a us version. i infact like the English voice acting quite a bit.

If youd like i can link you to a softmod tutorial and a link the usbloader gx so that you can play this wonderfully crafted masterpiece.
