I have killed 5 mice, 4 keyboards, a scanner a chair wheel and a 1 TB harddrive.

My partner wants me to move out of this corner of the room before I die too.

Or kill the computer. Whichever.

What do you do to the mice/keyboards? Perhaps look into a trackball, and superglue/*****/industrial velcro them to your desk.

Do you give your mice/keyboards flying lessons when the computer is not cooperating?

Killed a fridge with a grenade. That was kind of fun.

Yes.

And they WERE trackballs.

Those that didn't fall to water glasses and crumbs went down to a convulsive typing style, 126 hour computing weeks and under-desk clumsiness. Really, I'd say I had my value for money, in the end. If it was a newer (think about it) 1 TB disk. >__<

Definately being killed by your eating habbits. Track ball mice eat crumbs and die.
I guess your evil aura did the HD in along with the crumbs.

I might suggest either investing in more robust computer equipment, or not typeing using a hammer. Or get one of these! http://www.ergonomicsmadeeasy.com/store/industrial-keyboards/product/metal-keyboard-with-trackball/ (or these if spending $600 us on a keyboard seems a bit much... http://www.amazon.com/USB-Flexible-Full-Sized-Keyboard/dp/B000K6ZNHE )

I punch the keys on my keyboard like I'm typing on a typewriter, and I eat most of my meals at the computer (because I don't own a TV), but I've yet to break anything.

Logitech makes some pretty sturdy stuff. This G15 keyboard is from 2005 or 2006 and it's still working just fine, despite having stuff growing on the inside these days. I could probably take it apart and find a complete meal inside of it.

My almost twelve year old Logitech ball mouse still works like a champion. It has the added bonus of being much easier on the wrist than normal mice.

THey still make that exact model Turin, though the iptical sensor and encoder board have been slightly upgraded.

I still want to turn the damned things upside down and use them like a regular mouse whenever I end up physically interacting with a busted computer in the wild. That and them damned ergo joystick mice.

Yeah I killed one of exactly those. Smiley: glare

The other trackballs were logitech varients.

Koalian, give yourself a rate-up for A Very Useful Link. Thanks! Not that I can afford a $500 keyboard right now, but maybe I can wrangle one for next year's birthday and christmas...

I just hijack my coworkers mouse when mine at home breaks. Saves me money and is funny watching them try to use a computer with no mouse.

Keyboards and mice are no-cost RMA items (off the books) at my work, so I can just snag one when I need one. They're cheap, but who cares? Also, we cycle through upgrades on the tester computers every couple years, so we're constantly getting full boxes of full systems with all the peripherals, but rarely need to actually replace the keyboard, mice, cables, etc. I've literally got a stack of keyboards and mice sitting in my office right now.

Hard drives? Not so much.
