Thanks to cracked.com for wasting my valuable work time, and providing me with this:

Oh, how the mighty Liam Neeson has fallen.

But isn't a rule of thumb that any movie that Liam Neeson is in is just down right awesome?

I swear it's a rule. The man, is the man.

Alexander Skarsgard should have auditioned for Thor.

Forgot there was more than one in Hollywood.

Is this CGI driven silly action flick supposed to ruin his career worse than Clash of the Titans did? Because I'm not seeing a difference.

How the final dialogue should have gone:
Neeson: "Prepare to fire!"
Gunner: "Sir, what coordinates?"
Neeson: "... B-6"

Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.

I rest my case.

It's a shame, because he had all this positive momentum coming out of Taken.

Then he did that bizarre interview on The Daily Show where he soapboxed about the plight of NYC carriage drivers. Then he did Clash of the Titans.

I'm still pleasantly surprised any time he crops up as a voice actor, though. Casting him as the father in Fallout 3 was brilliant. I just wish there was more of him in the game.

Which I for one do NOT understand. I thought Taken was an incredibly mediocre movie. Everyone I know who saw it thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I feel like we all saw different movies Smiley: glare

It just happened to be a solid, "martial-arts-style" action movie that came in the middle of a dearth of decent movies in that genre.

But the emotional story hit all its notes solid, so you cared about the protagonist and daughter. And it didn't pull any punches about human trafficking, which gave it tension and a visceral kick that few movies in the genre achieve.

Not a stellar film, but enjoyable popcorn-fare.

My husband loved it for the idea of a father taking the most extreme measures to find his little girl. It reminded me of Mel Gibson in Payback, but Liam Neeson was elegant in kicking *** to get where he needed to be.

I considered it a huge let down. Serves me right for expecting anything worthwhile from him in the first place.
