One of those daysFollow

We hit a slow day at work today.

I've been twiddling my thumbs for about an hour and a half. The highlights of the day have been a UPS shipment and a FedEx shipment. I sat down and did some editing on a website that I had been putting off for a long time, but I've found myself circling the same dozen websites since then.

Damn, I wish I could install FFXI on this workstation.

As it is, I'm eating an early lunch and trying to remind myself that the majority of people working right now are envious of my downtime, and I should appreciate it while it lasts. Smiley: laugh

I used to have that problem... then the end of the fiscal year came, audits happened, and now we're all playing catch-up (and likely will into August). Then it'll be slow for a couple of days until students come back for fall semester. Luckily, my department is incredibly lax when it comes to internet browsing (basically the idea is "If you get the work done and don't break UF web policy, surf away"), so I'm thinking I'll catch up on some manga next month.

But yeah, slow days are bad. I like it steady/busy, because the day flies and I feel accomplished.

Yeah I've already hit some of the back issues of One Piece, and now I'm trying to get some short story writing done so when I go home and fart around on video games all night I don't feel too guilty.

I have several manga (and novels) to catch up on, but rotations don't leave me with enough time to really sit down and do a lot of pleasure reading. :(
