That kitten was too cute to have met an early fate. I'm so sorry, that's horribly sad. ;;

Smiley: frown that sucks. If nothing else i'm sure you made the kitten happier than it would have been otherwise for the time it had left. Sorry to hear that it didn't make it though.

Take it to heart and go to the local aminal shelter and get another kitten and give it the chance to become your next best friend.

I'm sorry for you losing your kitten. Sadly, I know what it's like to lose a kitten at a very young age, it sucks.

Upper respiratory failure. I had to give her some amoxidrops around noon on Sunday, then she hid for a bit (as usual). Tried calling for her all day, since she would meow when you made enough noise.... no noises.

Mom found her curled up later on in the day.

My friend is bringing over some kittens here in a bit. Cross your fingers and hope I pick out a good one. (think I'll call it Kitten VI)

So my friend brought over 3 kittens, 2 white and 1 almost all black (kind of brindle color though, which will come out more as its older). I took the black one. She already ate a bit, found the litter box, hissed at the dog...and thus got licked by the dog.

She's sleeping on my bed now, with my dog watching her from a few feet away.

Belkira, your dog is so @#%^ing cute. Like, extraordinarily cute. I need another shih tzu puppy soon. Tell me, when it grows, is it really high pitched and adorable? My dog still has a cute rolling growly growl, but when he was a puppy, it was like a motor in a tiny little wind-up car.

And grats to Dyadem on the new *****. The best way to get over one is to get under one, as they always say.

Well, to spread a little cheer:

After having to give up the kitten I took in (for a month, gave him the name Boots), he was picked up by my girlfriend's parents. They also took a second kitten he had bonded with, a grey tabby by the name of Apple. Apparently if you have an energetic kitten, getting a second one is a good idea: they'll amuse each other and two kittens aren't much different than one when it comes to raising them.

Boots and Apple 1

Here's the two of them at the shelter before we brought them home.

Boots and Apple 2

Here they are playing while they were briefly at my place. Or rather, Apple is trying to get Boots to play Smiley: grin

Edit: Looks can be deceiving. These little guys either run around like crazy or sleep. It's hilarious. Boots is also much bigger now (these pics are about 4 weeks old). Apple is still smaller.

I'll never have cats again not because i don't love them, but because they started peeing inside the house i think because multiple cats that were in the house. I had to give up three of my cats i sent my oldest cat to my mother 1 to my grandmother to be an outside cat and 1 to my sisters house. They all live out of the city and have alot of land where they can explore and i think there more happy that way. Sly is going on 18 years and he can still move fast when he gets a hair up his ***.

Cats do that because they are seriously pissed off, can't control themselves anymore, are in heat, or are afraid to use the litter box (perhaps because they are afraid of another cat/animal).

If they are spayed/neutered and aren't being harassed, it should't be a problem. Unless they were SERIOUSLY lacking in exercise room (like 3 cats in a studio apartment full of furniture).

My sister and her fiance had two cats that my sister had originally agreed to "watch until her friend got set up in CA." A decade later, and she still had them, lol.

Then they ended up with another, who showed up at their door mewing and just walked right in when they opened it. Then the younger of the original two died (the older one was really f*cking old, too). Then there was another kitten hanging around their house, that he'd put food out for whenever the weather had been really, really bad. Enough that the cat trusted him, but not enough that she was always there looking.

But then she ended up with a leg injury from something, so they took her to the vet and then she was theirs. :P

Then the oldest cat passed while they were on vacation (I found her when I went to clean their litterbox/give fresh food/play with them).

So they have two youngsters now. Fate has made it clear that they are supposed to have two cats, lol.

The funny thing is that, when you walk around their town, you can see the newest addition's brothers and sisters hanging out (unique and recognizable coloration).

Another kitten picture. That was taken about 2 years ago. The one in the front now looks like this. She must have been in a fight with someone and got scratched on the nose. The second one unfortunately didn't make it.
