No, it wouldn't be a **** move in that situation; you have every right to disagree with someone's opinions and discuss why you disagree, regardless of the topic. However, that's not what you were doing. You were making fun of Christians for celebrating a holiday that had other origins. You aren't wrong about what you said, but you presented the truth in a condescending manner, and that is what made it a **** move.
I am aware that it's probably too idealistic of me to expect people to have discussions and arguments in a polite and respectful way all the time, but I expect it nonetheless. Especially from you all, because I know that you are intelligent people and capable of doing so. I enjoy the discussions and arguments here, but only when they are kept civil.

I was just asking why you thought it was a **** move. I'm glad you've explained your position and I can respect that.
My tone was one of weariness more than anything else. It's because there are very few Christians who know why their religious festivals are on certain dates or that Christianity was constructed via committee. Very few know that the dates are plagiarised from earlier religions to ease conversion and gain more followers.
I don't really see how I was mocking them outright, unless it was from the "Silly Christians and your plagiarised festivals" comment. I meant that to be read in the same tone of "Silly rabbit, trix are for kids". Hard to convey tone via text, though, I suppose.
