Summer is always annoying because of these bugs. I'd really like to be able to open my windows at night and let the cool air in rather than run the AC. But the moths that gather on the windows attract spiders. The spiders lay eggs and the resulting little spiders are able to fit through the screen and live between the screen and the window. So after early spring I can't open my windows without letting a few nasty spiders into my house. So I just end up keeping my windows closed until the temperature drops enough to start killing them off.

Do those non bug-attracting lights work? Should I put a bug zapper in my yard and run it constantly?

I recommend frogs to eat both the moths and the spiders.

Then, when winter rolls around, you can harvest the frogs for frog legs.

I bought a can of RAID "garden insect" killer. I just need to get an attachment for my hose to put a wash solution sprayer on it. So I can spray around my doors and windows with the RAID and then wash down the house and clean everything off.

But... that's just a temporary solution. I'd really like to not attract bugs to my house.

That old phrase "like a moth to the flame" is a set of instructions. Build a flamethrower!

I thought about it. Ever since I had to get a few out of the eaves of my house when I was redoing the fascia and soffit. I don't mind bats (that aren't in my house). Around here they are the cute little types.

Perhaps a finer mesh screen for your windows, even it's it's something you have to attach to the existing screen? Alternatively, you can get that long lasting bug killing stuff(provides a barrier for like a month, iirc) and completely coat your screen with it in hopes that it'll do the trick. I know it has done wonders for my porch.

Catch every single moth you can, then tie a little string to each one. Once you accumulate 10,000 moths, you can set them free and FLY!
