After spending years hundreds of miles away from me, one of my best friends is finally coming home.

Glad you're so pleased. Was it only the distance or did you also spent quite some time apart?
Only the distance. We've kept in touch, but the last time I've seen her physically was 2 years ago when we met for a couple of days at a friend's house (this was still a several hundred mile trip for me).
It's nice to have a good friend back to where you can visit with them. Now you can go do things with also.
Your friend is like a really slow boomerang.
