I read that some of the cures of a migraine are aspirin, acetaminophen, and caffeine. So at lunch, I had a coke instead of a bottle of water (I weaned myself off of having a coke a day a while ago in an effort to try to lose weight and eat a little better). It helped for about twenty minutes, then my head hurt again. So last night, I had a coke at dinner. It didn't even phase me. No hint of relief. And aspirin makes my tummy hurt and makes me bleed because of the Crohn's. And Tylenol didn't help in the least. But that's sort of par for the course for me. Whatever usually works to fix something doesn't with me. I guess I'm just special. Goddammit.
I'm sorry to hear you get these on a regular basis. I was always sympathetic to people who had to suffer migraines, now I would offer to come over and score some LSD for you because I understand so much more....

Caffeine isn't a migraine cure-all. The reason than caffeine is in so many migraine tablets is that caffeine is actually an extremely addictive substance, and one of the symptoms of caffeine-withdrawal is killer headaches.
Thus, what many people think is a migraine is actually a migraine-level caffeine-withdrawal head-ache. As far as I know and remember it takes 30 days to detox off caffeine. I was so proud of myself for quitting all coffee and black tea, and then I realised I was still eating chocolate. =/
