Is it that difficult...Follow

Work rant, here we go!

This dumb cnut I work with is pissing me the @#%^ off. She has been her for over a year and yet she cannot print more then two things without @#%^ing them up. I work with a large format flatbed printer its quite easy to load, the 4x8 piece of coroplast goes in square, you hit load and then start printing. I would imagine any one who watches the procedure twice would have it mastered. This dumb ***** does not though. Out of the whooping two things she printed yesterday after I left for the day, came out @#%^ed up. There are some projects that when printing will need an extra step towards the end which involves getting out of your chair and attaching a "kicker" to the remaining edge of the sheet for proper printing. It takes ~ 20 secs but if you do not do it before the end of the project, its entirely ruined and you need to reprint.

I really think she has Alzheimers. It ridiculous how many times I have to go over simple sh*t with her. If I am not here and something goes wrong its @#%^ed and won't get fixed till I get back. Something as simple as "oh I couldn't find XYZ material so i didn't print anything today" when its in the same spot, marked with the name item # for over a year.

Ughh I am too frustrated to go into much more coherent detail because I need to go fix her mistakes. Also, for the record, my company thinks she is the @#%^ing cat's pajamas.

EDIT: where the **** are the borders, I feel like my post is going to spill out all over my avatar and signature.....

Take her to the shower and beat the crap out of her. That's how we handle slow learners here. It tends to work.

The first thing that came to my mind was:
At least she's a little better than the guy that was there before, right?

And then I was like:
Goddamn people who claim to be graphic designers but have no idea how to operate printers. It's not terribly difficult.

Not my boss.

She has also had this terrible habit of never coming in on time. I am not even exaggerating, she has not once been in before 8:30am. She is supposed to start at 8:00am. Today she strolled in at 9:30am, yesterday 8:45 etc etc. Its like this everyday and management does nothing. This isn;t anything new, since her first day back in Feb 09 she has been in late.

I hear waiting till she is in bed asleep and beating her with socks full of soap works as well.

How about people that tell you that something needs to get done by <insert time> and you do it and then they don't show up at all at work that day?

Go to their house and cover their windows in zombie pics, then wait for them to run out and hand them the work project.

I've done so on so many different occasions.

See our Manager is an idiot.

Lets say she comes in at say oh 9:15am, he will come upstairs with a ******* of work for us. Put it in our To Do Bin which is overflowing because I am only one goddamn person and then proceed to get all Chatty Cathy with the ***** for 15 - 20 mins about UFC or TV shows or some lame story we've all heard a dozen times. So thats another 15-20mins she has yet to start her day. I've brought up her tardiness and I keep getting the head nod, "I'll talk to her" and nothing comes of it and she is in late the very next day.

Divide the work into two piles. Take the projects that you want, or that you know will make you look good. Give her the rest.

Finish your work and leave.

She's playing the system. You can either play the system as well, or be the schmoe who covers for the slacker. Sorry, but she's been spending her time playing politics, and you need to catch up.

Stop working double time for her. Let her lapse in productivity affect your productivity. Document when it happens, and how it affects you. Request documentation form management whenever you talk with them. Let the uppers know that you aren't trying to be a pain, but that someone else is hindering your job performance, and you don't wanna be the one to get the axe. If they even get the hint that this issue will seep into 'over their heads' territory, they will probably do something.

Document, document, document. Document that you have been to your supervisor. Do as Samira says so you have proof of jobs not getting done. Talk to someone in HR...

Best get used to her habbits. She has the boss in her pocket or pants. (what ever one is best fitting) Until she either uber pisses him off or someone higher nothing will happen.
I've been having same issues at work with First shift people comming in up to an hour late constantly and not a thing is done. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that one girl comes in late Fri, Sat and thats also the day the boss is off. (Can we say a little hanky panky going on) Also, if you want days off you have to bribe the boss. God I love state jobs!

Maybe you should try sleeping with your boss as well.

Let us know how that goes, please.

Other "management" is the management's significant other.

Just rolling with the punches, going with the flow, it is what it is. That's been my mantra.
