My household had a
New Scientist subscription for ages. I really loved reading them front to back.
They were a little too popularised (dumbed down) and I kept wishing they'd have side boxes that housed the relevant molecule structure, chemical formulae or maths formulae in semi-separate boxes from the article that readers could skip if they wanted to, or read if they wanted to. But I still loved being able to have a hearty, easy pre-digested meal of some of the current findings.
At the moment we don't have any subscriptions while we're saving.
I miss
New Scientist. American Scientist was "better", but very dry reading. Anyway, I DO think all that stuff is fun. It's fun getting to know how the Earth, the universe and the brain etc works.
