Thoughts on the KFC Double DownFollow

#1 Apr 14 2010 at 11:46 PM Rating: Default
So, what are everyone's thoughts on this new freak of the fast food industry that KFC has released? Anyone has tried it yet? I have seen it on TV, but I am too scared of this... this... thing, to even try it. At first I thought it was a really bad joke, but it is now very real. Right now I can't even come up with words to describe this monstrosity, heck, I don't even think there is a word in the dictionary to describe it either. After some thinking on it I think I have finally coined a term for this kind of "food", we could call it the "iChick" because it embodies everything that is wrong with fast food.

Very panicked,

Minus the pepperjack cheese, I'd so eat one of those.

When you do, please post again with a review on it. I suggest you use Chicken Fillets to rate it. Like 5/5 fillets or something like that.

Honestly, this thing is the kind of shenanigans I would have expected during the height of the Atkins craze, not now, but let's face it, it's not as bad as you might be making it out to be.

What I'm saying is that yeah, it's bad, but really, it's no worse than any of the other crap you've likely been shoveling in your face at fast food places, and it replaces the empty carbs of the bread with proteins and fats, which promote satiety, so it has that going for it. So calm the **** down.

Well, maybe not right now, but yeah, I could go for some KFC, though not that sandwich in particular. A two piece meal with some mac and cheese, however.... Smiley: drool2

I'm just annoyed with someone demonizing a sandwich when its no worse than what's already on the market. The real problem with fast food is that there are actually choices far worse than this sandwich out there and you don't hear anyone really talking about how horrible they are, well except doctors, hippies and Subway. And it's not even the out there, new stuff, but the stuff that's been around forever that I'm talking about.

Let's just stick with the fact that if it's fast food, it's bad for you. Really bad for you. I mean, defending one fast food sandwich over another is retarded. They're all garbage. Garbage that somehow tastes good enough that you crave one in the wee hours of the morning and will get into your car and drive to the store and get 5 or 6.

I ate one yesterday. It was really filling, and the chicken was incredibly tasty, but it's not something I would go for again; at the end I was thinking the best part was the chicken and that's all I really wanted, but two pieces were too large.

I love my meatball subs :( they will probably kill me. I also put a load of ranch dressing on it.

I thought the same thing when a former girl friend drowned her sub in mayo. She'll always hold a special place in my heart(probably called cholesterol) for introducing me to that.

Pretty greasy, but only half the calories of a famous bowl I'd like to think somewhere someone started doing this and it just kinda took off. Next fast food chain to catch on : McDonalds starts putting a layer of french fries on their burgers. Wendy's will then introduce pre frosty dipped fries.

I used to work at Sonic. They've changed their fries, but they used to be slightly coated. The cooks found out that if you took a couple of our fries, wrapped them in cheese with a little ketchup, mustard, and pickle, it tasted just like a McDonald's burger.

The Old Spice B.O. Blocker adverts were awesome, too.

So is every commercial by Old Spice lately, apparently.

Thanks to this thread I went over to the local KFC for lunch today. I was rather annoyed when they told me that they didn't have the Double Down. Smiley: mad I had to settle for the three strip meal, which wasn't terrible, but not what I wanted.

I've gotten two of them so far. They're actually pretty tasty, the bacon is above-average for what I'd expect from KFC, the cheese is pretty good, and whatever that sauce is has a nice little kick to it. Of course, every one I eat probably takes a day of my life.
