He's so smart he outsmarts even himself!

Edit: some people on Reddit are now comparing Miley Cirus' embarrassing "sexy" act with Rammstein's live performance of Buck Dich because OMG two of the guys from Rammstein got arrested and fined for their performance in which they pretended to have gay sex (with a rather strong BDSM vibe) and swung around a ***** shooting "***" made of watered down liquor over the audience. In 1999.

It's not an Alma thread until he defines a word in a completely different manner than everyone else. Then argues that everyone should accept his strict definition and the logical deductions therefrom. Smiley: rolleyes

Somewhere around that point in the sentence I realized it was going to end with a Smiley: facepalm moment.

No, that's gbaji.

Remove the logical deductions and replace them with blind inferences, and you get Alma.

Alma spells out his preconceived assumptions then berates you for not following his unshared obscure reasoning (which you have to spend 20 pages beating out of him, not that anyone cares enough to do that, and not that it's really all that impressive or convincing stuff when you finally do), gbaji doesn't bother to share his assumptions but spells out all his reasoning in boring detailed posts no one reads.

Both ways work so well... Smiley: rolleyes

Either way, you only have to read 1 or 2 sentences until you'll find something sufficiently wrong to respond for the easy +1. Smiley: lol

Does a Unix distro handle files that size better than Windows?

yes, one of the main reasons being that almost no one using *nix is using the GUI to do file stuff. the terminal is great for that stuff.

hell, vi can handle 300 MB text files better than os x and windows.

even on a mac you get better performance using the terminal for that sort of stuff.

That's why you only barely read it. I mean, it's not like it's hard to see where they're wrong.

I'm ever fascinated how different people can be given the same set of facts and arrive at completely opposite conclusions.

Especially when they arbitrarily make up a second set of facts unlike the original ones, and then apply their own rules of logic.

So I have a teeny tiny bit less hair than this morning.

It's probably about 13-14 inches shorter.

I like that part. Facts get added in that weren't there, some facts that were there get tossed out some how. Cause and effect get reversed, then re-reversed then re-re-reversed. Things that aren't relevant to the conversation are given extraordinary weight. Then a bit of a derail brings in something tangentially related that needs to be mushed into the picture. Everything gets manipulated until it all makes sense in the head and such.

Then if the picture doesn't match reality you blame it on hippies. Smiley: nod

Yeah, thanks to a barber. I even got the haircut for free because my hair was long enough to donate to a locks-of-love like organization.

Also, why so much music?
Because I like music. That, and I'm aggressively competitive. I firmly believe that second place is being the best loser. I say that, to say this: Way back in the late 90s I had a friend, and one day this friend started to brag about how many mp3s she had. So I was like ********** you, I have this many!" So she, in turn went "Well, **** your horse, I got this many!" and it continues to this day snowball like that. I think I'm ahead at this point, we haven't compared in a week.

One is amusing because he'll come up with hypotheticals and what-if things to death, but they're so hole-ridden that he's forced to alter them and pretend it was all part of the original line of thought until it fits his narrative, at which point the new holes are brought up along with the old ones and it just continues to snowball from there. Alma just naysays. Picking the opposite and continuing until people stop, purposely just going for the last word.

Yeah, that's not a teeny bit. I don't think I've had that much hair cut off in the last two years total.

Eh, I didn't know it was an option but when the barber said that she could do that I figured I'd be a **** for not doing it as I was going to get it cut short anyway. I didn't even know that that paid for my haircut until I went to pay Smiley: lol

Yeah, the teeny bit part wasn't serious. I've had long hair for the past 11 or 12 years so it had gotten pretty long.
