My right eye is glued to my kitty timers and my left eye is going tennis back-and-forth between Recount, Omen and DBM timers. I have zero chance of spotting a small spiral on the ground until it goes WHOOSH WHOOSH KA-POW! in my face and knocks me the hell out of the way.

I guess that's what Feral Charge - Cat is for.

We had trouble with BPC until the first time we killed it or if we have a lot of new people.

If it is being that annoying you can go 3 tanks and 3 healers, the enrage timer is a joke or non-existent, I forget which of the two.

I see the vortexes even through my fat bear ***, dunno what your issue is Smiley: dubious

Turn spell detail up, see if that helps. In fact I'm pretty sure if I ever set up my own raids being able to turn spell detail up will be mandatory, makes so much sh*t so much more horribly obvious than it may have already been.

Maz, silly, why are you looking at Recount in that process? Fight now, numbers later. Smiley: tongue

I GOTSA HAVE THAT FIRST PLACE!

No, really, I use Recount to check if I'm doing it wrong. If I pop Berserk and Recount shows me dropping in DPS, something is bad. I don't even have to look at the action bar anymore, I just hit the keys while looking at colored bars and numbers. I suspect in a few raids time I'll have the cooldowns memorized as well, enabling me to fill my entire screen with Recount, BadKitty, DBM, Omen and the minimap for positioning.

What? WHAT?

*crazy eyes*

Also, for those of you haven't seen it yet, there's some Cataclysm talent previews available on MMO-Champ and WoWHead. The thread's in the general forum.

Will this be our DPS spec come Cataclysm?

Two talent points left? Can't even max out Survival of the Fittest for them. Not that it matters since SotF no longer boosts our stats, but being crit immune was sort of nice considering the ****-ton of aggro I'm pulling with Swipe.

Ravage gets major boost now and is available out of stealth for six seconds every time we Feral Charge (Cat), plus the crit chance is increased by 50% of the target is above 90% health, so I guess it's our new opener, provided we Feral Charge the boss as the first thing? Sure would be cool if we didn't have to waste those six seconds applying Savage Roar. Or do they expect us to Charge > Ravage x3 > Savage Roar > Mangle > Shred, etc?

When the target is below 25% health, Ferocious Bite will refresh Rip. So now Ferocious Bite is a vital part of the rotation after 25%.

Rake and Savage Roar gets an additional six seconds on the duration from a talent. That doubles the Rake duration or something, doesn't it? Still makes Rake the ****** underdog of our abilities.

When we use Tiger's Fury, our maximum energy is increased from 100 to 112. Useful if Tiger's Fury wasn't used when we're low on energy. What's the use for 12 extra energy when we're hardly ever full, especially not after using Tiger's Fury?

Okay, that sums up the negative stuff, all of which I'm sure can be picked apart like a roast duck.

Cool parts?

Basically the same talents we have now, but we get 5 extra points. Two of which are redundant.

Okay, I admit, I'm not all too happy about the way this is going. Was hoping for a major "fix" to the rotation to make it at least a bit easier. Seems like half-assed solutions to me. Ferocious Bite refreshing Rip is nice, if only it wasn't at 25% health or lower. Additional duration on Rake is nice, if Rake wasn't the stupid ability we all want rolled into another ability. Additional duration on Savage Roar is nice, I guess. All of it opens up our rotation a bit.

The Ravage part tied into Feral Charge I'm just not getting. They want us to open up with Charge now and then spam Ravage for six seconds before starting our normal "rotation"?

Hide recount in combat, it's no more than a useless distraction.
Also stop staring at Omen during BPC, if you're close to pulling aggro there (except for the Keleseth tank) there's bigger issues.

Edit: Just checked that preview and I can only say one thing:

NOM NOM NOM!

Also Tankspec GO!
And Pulverize looks awesome.
(This is assuming that maul will not be an "on next attack" ability in Cataclysm, else Fury Swipes is rather redundant)

I also love how NOM NOM NOM now basically gives kitties an execute of sorts.

Ferocious Bite, unless they're changing the difference in damage, isn't all that. 5 combo points, a full energy bar and an OOC proc and it crits for barely 30k. Shred crits for 13-14k. Sometimes I just skip FB and hit Shred twice. Saves me the ulcer inducing moments where FB doesn't crit and does 8k damage instead of 28k.

It's nice that we get some more direct damage near the end of a fight, but it has next to no effect on the horribly long ramp-up time of Feral DPS. Yeah, sure, we get some Ravages at the start of the fight, but we still have to apply debuffs and buffs ad nauseam before we can roll out our sustainable DPS.

Which means target switching fights will be a pain in the *** still. And now with more pain as we have to open with Feral Charge and Ravage spam. More buttons that need to be pressed, more variables added to the priority list.

John F. Madden still lives.

Those trees aren't quite complete I think. I've theoretically seen things. Maybe.

I've heard that the actual ones are a bit more streamlined. You can literally pick up every useful PVE point by 85.

Or so I'm told.

Maz: Stop looking at recount during a fight. Look at any parse and you know that dps swings up and down, there's not a steady procession at all times, and as such Recount can never really tell you if you're doinitwrong. Recount is only good for a quick glance after a fight for live statistics. If you actually want to examine your performance in depth, then start using WOL and just go over the details of each fight after.

All the instances were down last night so we had to cancel our raid. Which means I got to spend 2 1/2 cleaning out the guild bank. It wasn't as much fun as raiding, and it made me despise my guildies more then when they ***** up on a fight. I mean people, seriously, stop putting crap in there 'cause you don't want to walk to the AH yourself. I'm tired of selling like 3 peacebloom, 4 infinite dust, 2 cobalt ore, etc. We also had stacks of 1 rhino dog, and 1 hearty rhino dog. Smiley: disappointed

I can't stop, it's gone on for far too long. And the Recount meter is always visible up in the left corner.

Anyway, I'm mostly looking at it because I'm still learning how various actions affect my DPS. I need to know how much letting Rip drop for a couple of seconds affects my DPS. And it's a great motivator for me as it gives me a goal other than to keep the debuffs up.

Both our tanks failed to show last night, so I tanked in ICC. I'd never done anything except holding Rotface in place and a bit on the healy dragon. The guy I got paired with had never even been in ICC before. We 1-shotted everything up to rotface and wiped once with me learning to kite oozes and the pally heals being lazy on the ooze explosion thingy (Well ok we wiped twice, but when someone disconnects with an ooze spawned on him in the middle of the pack, that's hardly fair Smiley: tongue).

Anyway that 20% buff is really forgiving of noobishness/rustiness like hitting the wrong buttons, forgetting when to taunt, and ******** up a pull or two.

So, RNG apparently thinks I'm its new ***** or something. 10.5k DPS on Saurfang and then sub-9k on Festergut.

Meh, Festergut was a total failure anyway.
I didn't even break 10k dps there, and I do hat pretty much anywhere nowadays.

Also, neener neener I beat you at Saurfang with 11260something dps.

I do at least 4k on Festergut but I tank.

Been pushing 3.5 to 4 on the times we've done Sindy since I do cat for until P3.

As a side note, had the DK I tank with switch to a blood spec and regem a bit. Haven't seen it in action in a raid yet but hoping it help his EH, TPS and DPS go up a bit.

It is rare if can see a non-bear tank with similar gear that can do more DPS then a bear.

7k dps on fester as bear.
Tanking first and then going catform once I get 9 stacks is awesome.

Yeah, that sort of sucks, but with a cat's -30% threat it's not all that bad actually.

Or I just suck balls at feral dps, which isn't all that unlikely Smiley: lol
